So, seriously, are you running some sort of ethically-questionable social experiment here or something?

I was just saying I don´t agree with those websites that rank music from the 2000s because most of those never put LP records on top positions, I think they are based on critics rather than on album sales.

Well, obviously, they are. I don't understand how you could be confused. It seems that you specifically want a list of the best-selling albums of that period, so you should just look for one of those - if I recall correctly, "Hybrid Theory" is at the apex when it comes to debut album sales in the 2000s.

For debut albums it surely is at the top spot, but for albums in general it falls to Eminem and some more.

because these appeal to the masses. (and lets not talk about the fact, that bands in earlier days sold about 100 Million records)

Those bands in the 80s/90s that sold 100 million were massively overrated, except for one or two, the amount they sold was insane.

Well, if you look at the context, there was basically no other way to consume music at the time.

It´s true, nowadays streaming and digital downloads undermine physical album sales so much, so the most successful can hope to sell 2 to 3 million or a bit more than that in 1 year.

Does anyone else agree with me that the radio edit of "Let It Happen" by Tame Impala is better than the album version? It's just more to the point; the album version sort of wanders around a bit too much IMO.

Haven't heard the edit, but the album version of Let it Happen is just perfect. Wouldn't change a thing.

I finally got to hear the new Lorde album and I think that it is so good. :sorcerer: It's one of those albums where I (right now) feel a little breathless after hearing it and I'm not sure which song to revisit first

I can never quite decide if love Owl City's Fireflies, or if I think it's an utter piece of crap.

The new Purity Ring track "Asido", it's amazing! but it's only a present for the 5 year anniversary of Shrines though. they didn't say nothing about the new album.
