If You Had Compiled a Top Albums of 2017 List, Where Would You Put One More Light?

OML may receive a lot of negative feedback because it departed from the hard-driving, explosive sound the band is known for, but since it dropped last May, I can't stop listening to it almost every day. I'd make it my No. 1 album of the year.

 

It's my 3rd favorite of the year!

 

Top 10 yes, but not one of the best 5. There were much better albums this year.

 

Probably in the top 5 because Lorde's Melodrama, Brand New's Science Fiction and Björk's Utopia were amazing. I could shift positions between all these depending on the mood. These things change almost every day.

 

I absolutely adore One More Light. It's tied for favorite LP album with A Thousand Suns. However, if I look at my Top 10 list, I would rank at least Kendrick Lamar, Queens of the Stone Age, NIN, and Paramore above it. So at least Top 5. Though the new Björk is growing on me, so it might drop to Top 10.

Not to be offensive, but LP is lucky that Jesse from Brand New is such a gross asshole, otherwise LP would already be out of the Top 5.

 

Anyone listened to Jay-Z's 4:44? It's in the Top 10 in my book.

 

No disrespect to Chester, but this album is awful in my opinion... so I would rank it somewhere near the bottom of my list.

Honestly never thought I'd say it, but yeah that's one of the best albums of the year.

Anyway, this year went by so fast, I don't really know what I'd rank on top, probably Brockhampton. I haven't even heard all that much new stuff this year, nothing really blew me away except for Brockhampton. But yeah OML would be in the top 5 I think. I liked the album but since Chester died it took a whole new feeling to it, and it's terrifying and wonderful at the same time.

 

Honestly, i've only really liked 3 albums this year, OML, Ed sheeran's album and Concrete and gold by Foo Fighters. And i can't really rank them because i like them equally. Not to be "that guy" but this year i've generally been really dissapointed in music and have been listening to music from the 70's/80's.

 

Probably number one. It's my most listened to album anyway.

I will say that without a doubt, One More Light is my favourite song of 2017. It's a masterpiece for so many reasons.

 

My song of the year is NCSM. Among all the tracks on OML, it was the one that I can't stop playing over and over.

 

Apparently that is the song Spotify says to be my most played song of 2017. I had no idea I had played it so many times.

I thought it would come up as ATC did, but I started listening too late. Some other artists could have had at least a song there.
