I would think this song would have striking differences compared to a majority of theft derivative trap garbage that is flooding the mainstream these days. But opinions
To be fair, even if it's trap (and usually I'm not a fan of it), there's clearly a distinctive "Mike flavour" in the beat IMHO. Most trap song have all the same sound. This feels different.
As a fan of trap music, a lot of trap is actually different from one another. You guys should explore the genre some more, you might find some stuff you like
I need to add "Post Traumatic" is not all about the music inside the CD. For me its like more of a art project in handle personal grief and problems. And Mike does really well no? Music is a part of it sure. I like all of the tracks so far, some more then others. Thats normal! Linkin Park wasnt about one style of music all over the time. So Mike is doing the same and do what he likes and experiment with music stuff. Deal with it *joke
Just wanted to state that I fucking love that last minute. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'S ABOUT YOU NOW, OOOHH OOOHHHH
There are people who like this song and there are people who don't , but it's nice (and weird) to see the fanbase as a whole still being so supportive of Shinoda's new music even if it isn't always the style they like. No-one's being an asshole about it this time or maybe I just haven't read enough comments, IDK
Nah this is definitely way better than it was during OML. At least if I give this a positive review I won’t be personally attacked for my opinion like I was during that album cycle.
Love it. This one definitely grabbed me more than CaL or NMSA did. Some thoughts. I think it's really cool that Mike's writing and putting out this music so quickly. For someone who usually fusses over every little detail, it's refreshing to hear him talking about recording verses in one sitting and releasing tracks when he feels like it. I think the result is music that does feel noticably more rough around the edges however. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but in my opinion, most of the songwriting on this album so far hasn't been quite as strong as what we were getting a year ago with One More Light. I think there's a noticeable difference in that regard between taking 18 months (with lots of collaboration) to write and fuss over every note on 10 tracks, versus writing 16 (mostly) solo tracks off the cuff and releasing them without second guessing yourself. On the other hand, I love the sound he's going for. I've always loved Mike/LP's electronic side, and immediately I think this album is far more interesting sonically than a lot of what we've heard before from the band. I think not having anyone to second guess him means that we're hearing a lot more unusual and experimental sounds, and I love that. Overall, I don't think this is going to be my favourite LP-related project. I don't think these are the strongest songs Mike's ever written. But I love how out there it is, and it goes without saying how much I respect him for putting an album out at all. For me so far, I think this album might end up sitting somewhere around the middle of all the albums he and the band have released, and I'm happy with that. I'm just glad he's making music.
I think it sucks. Not into that Drake stuff. Its an overdue song anyway. Sounds 2-3 years too late. Same with OML. Wasn't a good album plus it was late. This tuned down or up vocals stuff is dumb. Drake ruined rap I swear. I miss rap when there were rappers not r&b singers.
