    I know right!?

I've seen so many comments from "huge Beatles' fans" who "can't stand this garbage pop music". Like, yeah, it's different, but that's because it's 2018, not 1963. Aside from the contemporary production and the "risque" hook it sounds no different to any other 2010s era McCartney track to me.

It's really reminding me of when Heavy dropped with the backlash over a pop song from a band/artist that really never shied away from writing pop songs.

The whole Beatles thing makes me laugh, considering they were literally straightforward 60s Pop until Rubber Soul.

For a band as relatively big as Sum 41 to close out their shows with a Linkin Park cover in honour of Chester rather than their own music speaks volumes to the impact of his passing, even a year later. And although it's kind of jarring, you know the band is skipping the bridge completely out of respect. There's no way Deryck could nail it like Chester.

Mike just seems so happy to be playing music again in front of a crowd.

Joe Hahn played that Singapore F1 event recently. He kicked off his set with a breakbeat rmx of "The Catalyst" (a fanmade one from the contest), and scattered other LP songs throughout the set, incl. the ending

Man, I absolutely adore that Sorry For Now demo verse. Makes me wonder what gems Mike has written and never made it to the public.

Quick question - I'm in the process of writing a biography of sorts on the band. For the longest time we've assumed it was Mike, Rob, and Brad who founded Xero right? However, recently I've seen articles and interviews with Mike alluding (but not outright confirming) the fact that it was him and Mark who initially started Xero and they recruited Brad to help on guitar. Anyone able to help clarify this? For such an important piece of the band's history, I'd like to be certain.

Xero was initially a Mike/Mark project. Mark and Brad had played together in The Pricks previously, and later Relative Degree which also included Rob. Brad was enlisted to help with some of the guitar work on the demo, and Mike had met Joe at art school by that point and he did scratching on Rhinestone, but primarily the demo was just Mike and Mark. One of the A&R people who heard the demo suggested Mike and Mark should put a band together and start playing label showcases, so Brad and Joe were brought on full-time, Rob was recruited as the drummer since he had previously been in a band with Brad and Mark, and Dave rounded out the lineup after being roommates with Brad at UCLA.

TL;DR - Xero was Mark/Mike originally. Most of the demo was them, some involvement from Brad and Joe, none from Dave and Rob, all 4 other members only became "official" later on.

Thanks. I had all of that background information already but I just needed clarification on the official "founding" of the band. Especially considering even LPA's band bio notes Mike and Brad were the ones who started Xero. It only mentions Mark after all other members are recruited, describing him as nothing more than a "high school acquaintance".

Do we know for certain that the demos Mike and Mark originally worked on were the four Xero EP songs?
