While we're not going to directly be like "hey guys, there's a new leaked song..here's the link to listen" it's all over YouTube, and for every deleted link there's 5 more uploads that seem to pop up. If you guys want to hear it, it's not difficult to find at this point. So we're okay with discussing it, just please don't directly post links to the leak. As for the origin: It's been confirmed to be legitimate, and is apparently from early on in the OML sessions. I think it's a fantastic track, and shows what a Mike lead Linkin Park would sound like potentially (even more than SFN did).
My only question is: where the hell does it come from? Shouldnt be something like this be on a LPU CD?
Hi everyone Very happy to listen to new unreleased music of our loved band. Hope they come back soon.
Nothing is for certain. All that's known is that a LOT of material that shouldn't be getting out there has been getting out there. Full project files for songs (70 plus multitracks per song), and demos...all of which shouldn't have seen the light of day, but now are. It's odd.
It's ok I guess, would have been one of my least favorites on OML tbh. SFN is easily leagues better imo.
It kind of has a 2009-2011 Pop sound to it. It would’ve had a decent chance at chart success had lp pursued that style of music during that time. That said, the other songs on OML are mostly stronger than this. The one thing about this demo is that the vocal melody is better than Invisible.
The song is catchy AF. That said, the problem with instantly catchy songs is that they instantly wear out. So I can see myself not listening to this after a while. Is this from how a certain youtube account is making so videos on multitracks and isolated vocals and all that? I'm not gonna mention which one but I'm curious.
What the heck?! Did some studio hard drives get out in the wild or something?! Also this piano reminds me of Heavy.
I agree with this. I do like the melodies and the guitar lines, and it's interesting hearing what some heavier instrumentation might've sounded like for the band's songs at the time Past that, though, the lyrics aren't striking for me and the rough mixing has me pretty biased as well
Sorry but I think this song really sucks, and sums up everything I disliked about post-2012 LP another lazy laptop track with no grit, no atmosphere, uninclusive to other members from the band outside Mike - and average production.
I think that first phrase might be "daylight" "No grit" and "no atmosphere" (whatever that means) could probably be chalked down to it being an early, unfinished demo. If you're not into that, I get it, because I'm not the biggest fan of unfinished song leaks myself, but just how would you know how "inclusive" this demo is? It seems to have more live instrumentation than most of the songs on OML, if that's a make-or-break factor to you
I can see why it was scrapped; I don't think it's bad at all actually, more so I don't think it really fits the vibe of One More Light. It's a different kind of pop. I actually see it fitting a bit more on Post Traumatic, but maybe that's just Mike's vocals making me think that.
Yea, thanks. BTW, that YouTube channel that had all the Linkin Park mutlis and shit, seems to have been removed. I wondered how they were allowed to stay so long in the first place. Wonder if they were the actual source of all theses things that have leaked.
