After the LPA team shared their own Top 20 LP songs via a twitch livestream, we found it interesting to find out, how different it would be from the list, the LPA member would do. The first round is already over, but you can still vote in the second round. The link should be on the first page
I already do for the sake that you guys included ALITS in your honorable mentions But its gonna be interesting.
The complete lack of OML tracks is fucking horrific. On the other hand, the absence of basically every THP track gets a thumbs up. But on the other other hand, the amount of nu-metal... Based on on song composition alone, I already prefer the Admin list. Good taste is biased towards ATS.
As much as I hate the fact that New Divide and Somewhere I Belong made this top 25, I still appreciate getting to see the fanbase's input.
Somewhere I Belong gets too much hate meanwhile New Divide gets too much love. Just gonna say ND was an easy last place for me. Some of my top 30 made the list but a lot of it didn't which is sad but understandable as I have a lot of unique picks like In Pieces, In Between, Victimized, and Powerless in my top 30. What's shocking to me is not seeing Sorry For Now, Nobody Can Save Me, or Wretches and Kings in the top 25. I guess I can say they are underrated but they are also some of the band's best works ever.
I wouldn't call Wretches and Kings one of the best songs on A Thousand Suns by a long shot. At the very least, When They Come for Me, Waiting for the End, Blackout, Iridescent, and The Catalyst are better. At most, all the full songs maybe barring The Messenger are better.
That may be the first time that has ever been said about me I like Wretches and Kings, don't get me wrong. I think the bass production on that song sounds really cool. I just think in terms of the full album, it sits near the bottom of the totem pole.
I actually find that song to be one of my favorites on the album. My least favorite is the Catalyst. It sounds like.. bad Nine Inch Nails or something imo. The best songs are Blackout, WTCFM, WFTE. The second half of Blackout is corny though. But it’s genius because Mike sings (which is revolutionary in itself) and it has lyrics with some vanilla-political metaphors. It also makes the song longer and the structure more complex - which naturally makes it even more genius for an LP album. By the end of this post I may have changed my mind. Wow.
