I think it's quite common for all frontmen. I'm intrigued for the news whatever it is they announce. They have been part of our lives for so many years let's rejoice that they are doing something new.
This is a catch all reply to everyone responding to my post, yep I sure do accept I'm being whiney, and dare I say that, I'm being an..........insane fanboy! couldn't help it. Whining is what fanboys are suppose to do (I'm Joking!) Anyway thanks for posting that video, as I don't think I was even aware of it, to be honest. Or I could have just forgotten. But cool, that's good they seem to able to re-work songs. Good. I've always wanted the band members to make money, and be ok. That's why I made a point to buy Papercuts. If they do replace Chester, I will more then likely, do what I have with Blink 182 with no Tom, just not listen to it. Don't worry you won't see 1000s of posts and threads about me hating on the new singer. EDIT: After watching the video, it is indeed good, but my only concern is, will making the crowd partly sing Chester's parts eventually tire/wear them out? I know I would. Still though if they're enjoying themselves, that's all that matters.
I think any band with a considerable fanbase would see this kind of discussion if a frontman passed away and was possibly being replaced
Feels like old times again. Can’t wait to experience this new era of Linkin Park. No matter what happens tomorrow, I just hope the rest of the band is happy and ready to move on to the next step.
Maybe name of the new song, release date, art cover and new LP logo: https://m.vk.com/wall-23787907_45069 ø is "empty set"
It's been so long since I posted here. Feels good to be back knowing we'll have a new era by tomorrow! To be completely honest, the most disappointing outcome (FOR ME!!!!) about whoever is going to be the new vocalist (at the moment at least) is if it's just Mike. What would leave me the most excited is if we get a female voice. And if it ends up being another male vocal, I'm fine with that. It's not that I don't like Mike's vocals nor anything, I just think that since they are finally ready to come back, it would be really cool to just try new things with the vocal. But above everything, I'll respect whatever they'd decided. Ultimately, I'm just glad we get to hear new material coming from a comeback.
I believe it was discussed here: LP was built on two vocals and the contrast between them. Edit: Yes, it was discussed on page 7.
On the other hand, LP have constantly broken away from things their listeners took for granted about them. As likely as it might look that they're announcing a new band member, even having a contrasting pair of lead vocalists isn't something that's necessarily a given
Yeah, it was. But like minuteforce just said, they did different things throughout the years so who knows what new direction they chose for now. I guess what we can be sure at this moment is that they are doing whatever is comfortable and feels right for them.
If they are touring they're going to have two lead singers, because there's no way to do their whole setlist satisfyingly without that. Even if one of them might be a rotating guest spot depending on each leg of the tour. I'm still sold on a new permanent lead vocalist though.
As time goes on, I'm leaning more and more towards the idea that we're getting something along the lines of Three Band Terror. Does it make numerological sense?
I feel like if it was like Three Band Terror, the document I had to sign wouldn't give a strobe warning.
