Linkin Park return with new singer Emily Armstrong, new album From Zero out Nov 15, new tour dates

Having seen the livestream, I think Emily Armstrong is SUCH a perfect fit for this band! I always worried they'd find a singer that just wouldn't feel right, but she's amazing! "The Emptiness Machine" is a really fitting comeback single, it feels familiar enough while standing apart from the rest of what they've done. I am SO ready for this new era of Linkin Park!!!

 

I pre-ordered the Vinyl. Can't wait. Kind of wish they pushed back the dates for the tour. The US dates are too soon for me to plan a flight.

 

I'm sure they'll have a larger world tour next year.

I myself pre-ordered that really neat splatter vinyl. Can't wait to add that to my collection.

 

How dope is the video? Some New Divide effects, this is massive and we only have to wait 2 months for the record.

I am so happy to see the band together again. There were so many rumours that the new singer was female, and I have to say they made a great choice in Emily. She can only get better from here.

The new single? Massive. LP are not just back, they hit us all like a full speed train. And of course the song tailored to Emily's vocal strengths, which I'm sure we will see plenty on this new album. I will definitely have this one on repeat for quite a while.

I loved the show, I love the new image, the new video, the new color palette, it has freshness, vibrancy, something that feels new yet so familiar. The attention to detail, the craftsmanship, the SECRECY. It's all Linkin Park. It's been seven years, and it feels as if we are all healing together. We still miss and will miss Chester forever, he's irreplaceable, yet this project feels like an entire new chapter in the same book, respecting and honoring his legacy yet writing a new story.

I also have some words for Rob. I was hoping to see him today, celebrating this comeback, but I understand he made a decision, and I'm sure everyone involved treated this in the most respectful way possible, I hope there are no hard feelings at all, and I wish him the very best, and for him to live a happy life.

Cheers to Linkin Park, to Chester's legacy, and welcome to Emily. We love every single one of you, past, present and future.

His style evolved so much since we last saw him direct a full fledged video.

But I should've guessed from that New Divide glitch effect lmao.

 

I do like the new single, but not floored by it. It's a safe choice but I'm ok with that! It really showcases Emily well.

Their comeback performance was amazing. Any doubts were squashed for me by Emily's performances of Lying from You, Faint, and Papercut. I'm very excited to see what they have in store for us.

A little sad about Rob, but I had the sense even before the hiatus that he was kinda not as into it. I'm glad he's doing what he wants and not being in LP out of obligation or wanting to cash in. That's a bold decision in of itself!

I think Dave and Joe looked great today especially. Joe is looking like his best self.

 

I almost can't believe what I'm seeing here. After all this time, LP is actually coming back!? They even found a new vocalist who really complements their sound, as varied as it is!

It was sad to read about Rob, though - he made the decision to leave today, apparently. He will be missed, but Colin did a great job on "The Emptiness Machine"! This is such a strong comeback for a band that at least some of us thought would never return, outside of studio album anniversary rereleases. The future of LP is finally looking bright again, and that is such a relief.

 

Same, they are coming to Bogotá, Colombia and I'm in Chile, but it's way too soon. No way I can have the money for plane tickets, accomodation and concert tickets so so soon. But I'm hoping for a bigger tour next year.

 

Did I miss Chester? Of course.
Did Emily replace Chester? Of course not.
Did I enjoy every second of that performance? Absolutely.

She was leagues better than everyone at the tribute concert. She felt "right" and that's more than good enough for me.

I think Chester would be proud.

By the way guys... "4. Heavy Is The Crown" .. I am SO intrigued by this title, we've speculated a lot with past titles including Post Traumatic (with spectacularly wrong guesses), but I can't help but imagine. The 'crown' left by Chester, boy it's HEAVY. Can't wait.

As for The Emptiness Machine, I'm feeling strong MCR vibes in both guitar and Emily's delivery in the chorus. I dig it.

Over the last week, between all the "leak" talk, someone somewhere mentioned "Heavy is the Crown". I don't remember who or where, but I noticed that right away on the track list. It's definitely my favourite title on the album.

Also I'm thinking "I Gave You Everything in..."

Was literally thinking "In Hindsight" makes sense just as you posted.
