I personally love that there are little interludes and clips between the songs. Shit like that makes everything feel more tied together instead of just a collection of songs.

Thanks for your reply! Good to hear that the singles give a good taste of the album's scope.

I myself am really impressed with TEM. HITC and OEO, on the other hand, a bit less so (still good songs).

i can already tell i'm gonna love Good Things Go. Slow, melodic ballad type Linkin Park songs always hit different. The interplay of Mike and Emily singing together excites me to the core and i wished they did more of with Chester and Mike. it was never really "together" with Mike and Chester and it's such a shame because it could've been something beautiful.

Joe you fucking nailed this. Very well done. Appreciate the review and what the others have added in too.

Pretty excited for the album. The rock stuff sounds like it is excellent, but Overflow and Good Things Go have caught my attention immediately from this review. :)

I wanted to not read any track descriptions so I wouldn’t have any kind of first impressions before the album drops, but I failed.

I always try to temper expectations so I don’t get disappointed and overhype something for myself, but I am so excited to hear Casualty and Overthrow! Based on how heavy it seems to be, I really hope they play Casualty in Dallas!

I never thought we would be here again doing hype for a new Linkin Park album cycle. :)

I forgot that I created this account back during the hype before One More Light. I've been lurking on here these past few months with Linkin Park's return. Chester was legendary and will never be forgotten, but I'm also excited for this new era of the band. I didn't have a new LP album in 2024 in my bingo card but here we are.

Regarding the track descriptions from the listening party I feel more curious and hyped than ever. The time period before a new LP album has always felt special and magical in a way and I'm glad this is happening again. Casualty and Overflow is what I'm most excited about. November 15th can't come soon enough.

Those descriptions got me really hyped!

I think the ones that I'm most looking forward are Overflow and Good things go.

Impossible to say really without having time with it and listening to it more than twice.

Obviously From Zero feels fresh, new and exciting but saying it's better than some of their older stuff will be down to preference and doing it now might have some recency bias.

Most people were saying that there's songs on From Zero that could fit on any album they've done previously. It's definitely an album I'm looking forward to hearing again so that's a good thing. Can't think of one song I'd skip right now and I'm looking forward to having time with it and seeing what staying power it has.

Yeah, if the past cycles have told me one thing, it is that post-release hyperbole statements rarely (if ever) hold true on the long term  Both the positive and the negative ones.

I think one good way to go about it is just to approach the record with an open mind, see how much of a good feeling it gives you initially, be in the moment, and enjoy that feeling for what it is.

How good it is going to "rank" in LP discography will vary among people and depending on tastes and expectations. But certainly, only time (in years) will allow to give a more definitive answer. First, I'd rather have a blast now!

One only needs to look at the Lies Greed Misery scavenger hunt thread, then ask the shoutbox about the song, as proof of this concept.

Not only that, but the initial impressions of A Thousand Suns were very low. Now, it's held in high regard as their best work.

Sounds like we’re getting a lot of Mike on this album. It also sounds like he’s back to the conscious raps of HT and Meteora instead of the braggadocio verses of the last 3 albums.

Can’t wait to hear his delivery on Casualty and Overflow. And as most of the lyrics seem to be on Genius, the rapping on Cut The Bridge and Good Things Go seem like they’ll be my favorite verses off the album.
