Not going to listen to Casualty until the album drops. But I can't believe they played All for Nothing!
If they're debuting old songs I wonder if they'll finally do I'll Be Gone, Powerless and Skin to Bone? And Halway Right
We'll likely never get Halfway Right due to the connotations and subject matter. That was a deeply personal Chester song and I think it just would be weird for anyone else to ever perform it. Any others I'd say are on the table if the band is willing.
Caved in and couldn’t wait out the week, just came home from one of the listening parties at a record shop by my house. Really enjoyed the album overall. However relating to this post, and in my own personal opinion at the moment, Causality is my least favorite song in the album. Maybe need to listen to it with my good pair of headphones at home where I’m not being spoken to or disturbed by chattering, but the live clip of it above (while definitely a different animal bc of the hype up of adrenaline you get with a live show) doesn’t really change anything for me. Even after the second listen through at the party I still really had a hard time getting into it.
I can already tell that I like Casualty alright. The delivery from both Em and Mike is awesome, especially since it feels so different from Mike. I think whether I love it or not is definitely going to hinge on the musical garnish on the track and what Mike’s lyrics actually are because I couldn’t make it out.
Honestly, coming out of a listening party myself, I agree. Though it didn't help that the album was played on such shitty quality speakers. It was like a 128kbps stream from the early 2000's. Really disappointing first impression. I was somewhat glad we only listened to the record once in that regard.
Agreed. Not trying to sound ungrateful or bougie but the speakers that it played on really took away from the quality of it. I’ll have to really sit and listen to it on Friday with OTE headphones to really make my final judgement. But truthfully I’m positive I’m going to be in the minority here, which is no big deal obviously, but the song just didn’t do it for me, even some of the other fans agreed with me while I was there. Again, it’s not bad, but definitely not my cup of tea and I think it’s really the outlier of the album that I’ll skip over. There’s always one in every album lol
Same here. I'm no audiophile, but this was not the first listen From Zero deserved. Probably my first and last listening party.
I unfortunately experienced the same thing. Some listening parties were luckier than others, but, overall, record store speakers are not it
YES top 2 song on OML Yeah, the record store speakers were pretty bad at my listening party too. But I enjoyed the experience at least.
Just watched a pit angle of the "Casualty' performance and Shinoda is pumped as fuck throughout that song, I see what you guys meant
I'm so eager to check the performance later, hopefully "the biggest moshpit possible" was somehow captured on video
