LP8, From Zero, comes out this Friday. But the important part now is WHEN IS LP9 COMING OUT?!

What sounds are you hoping for? Do you want them to venture into new territory or go back to the ol' [Insert Your Favorite LP Album Here] days?

    Talk about it here!

I think it’s clear that it’s time Linkin Park become the ska gods they were destined to be.

    Early enough

There are a couple of things that come to mind.
    • Emily is a very versatile vocalist, and it would be awesome to explore different singing styles with her. Feels like possibilities are endless since we barely just met her, so to say
    • Emily guitar skills could also become an interesting asset in the songwriting process
    • I am usually more enthusiastic when the band mixes different styles of music within and between songs, and while maintaining a strong identity. HT and ATS were amazing at that, for example. So I just hope they keep doing that, while maintaining it fresh and exciting
    • Maybe... longer songs could be interesting ^_^
There is probably more but... first, lemme listen to From Zero!!

No joke, I’d listen the fuck out of a Linkin Park acid house EP. I need that now.

Crazy we can open a thread about LP9. While it's very early to do so, three months ago we didn't even know we would get a LP8 or anything new from the band at all! Makes me so happy.

About LP9 itself, I really would love an acoustic/indie album, but I feel like OML kinda burned the chance of that ever happening. More than anything now, I want them to explore and see what Colin and Emily can bring to the table with more experience and chemistry with the band

Can I say all of the above?

A Linkin Park double album would be my dream come true.

With the wealth of great leftover material from Minutes to Midnight and Meteora, we know they would have it in them to do it. Not an idea I’ve ever had, but now I would like to see it.

And you can almost make a double album of MTM between the polished LPU/leftover songs (Chance of Rain, QWERY, Blackbirds, etc) and Mall tracks originating from that period. I tried it out once with Announcement Sevice Public as the second side opener and it wasn't terrible. Sequencing sucked but overall decent.

I think with the band firing on all cylinders like they are now they could pull it off honestly. If they dug deep like with MTM again we could get something cool.

Sky's the limit and we know Mike is super proud of ATS, so not the most unreasonable to think they could try something weird again.
