Linkin Park has been announced as one of the headline acts for the 2024 edition of Soundstorm, a Saudi Arabian music festival put on by Middle Eastern lifestyle/entertainment brand MDLBEAST that saw its first year in 2019. This line-up addition was announced by a post on Soundstorm's official Instagram account only very recently, and public confirmation on Linkin Park's end (via an Instagram Story) arrived shortly after. The announcement of this headline slot has come immediately after the reveal of a massive world tour that the band plans to embark on in 2025 in support of their new album From Zero. This year's Soundstorm will run for three days, December 12 through to December 14, and will take place in the neighbourhood of Banban in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Linkin Park is set to perform on the first day of the festival, December 12, and Soundstorm's line-up section tells us that they will be playing a stage called "Big Beast", described as a stage focused on "superstar headliners". The band will share that stage with accomplished names including Eminem, Alesso and Martin Garrix - Eminem and Linkin Park are listed as the date's "featured" acts, befitting their headliner statures. Information on the considerable variety of ticket packages can be seen here, with separate pages dedicated to providing details on each option. Per the FAQ section on Soundstorm's website, tickets to the festival are only available via a ticketing platform called NOFOMO. Despite the festival happening so soon, Linkin Park is still not the final headliner to be announced, as none of the big acts for the 2024 festival's final date have been unveiled yet. First time they're playing in Saudi Arabia (I think). Always cool when the band is going for new places!
You're quite correct! The only other places they've played in the region were Abu Dhabi for the F1 Grand Prix in 2010, with Tel Aviv a couple days after. When they appear at this festival, it will be 14 years plus just under a month since their last time playing in the Middle East. One of the live trivia pieces I do know.
