Well i'm one of the many who have experienced problems with itunes 7. I gave up on using itunes long ago and started using anapod manager. That was all fine and dandy, but now i need to update the software on my ipod and the only way is through itunes. Now my problem is that when i click on the udate button, itunes disconnects my ipod from the computer, and the proceeds to try and update it.... Anyone experienced this problem.
I don't get why so many people are having problems with iTunes 7. I've not had a single problem with it.
Well if it's suppose to do that... i'm still having problems. What's the normal update time, cause mines been on the screen for about 35mins. Also... sort of unrelated. Itunes recognises my ipod by the name of one of the playlists i had on my ipod when i plugged it in. Oh and i'm at about 1hour 10 mins now... I definently think there is something wrong.
I was talking to Mark (Hahninator) yesterday and he said his Itunes software has had to update like...15 times in the last 3 days.
Yer, well it hasn't been working great for me... And the whole disconecting the ipod from the computer before it updates still seems kind of stupid to me. Are you sure it's suppose to do that...
I'm unsure of this issue, but if you guys are talking about updating the application, then I hope you guys do realise that there is a file and service named iPodService.exe that the setup needs to update, and in order to do that, it thas to disconnect your iPod first to prevent any possible damage to your iPod, if you know what I mean.
I'm unclear with what you mean... And Todd, i don't believe it's ever disconnected from the computer before when i've updated the firmware in the past, at least not until the update was finished, the "do not disconect" message would appear on the ipod screen until it had finished updating. Anyway, maybe it's linked to the fact that i'm having troubles getting itunes to recognise that my ipods attached. When i just plug it in normally, it doesn't come up with anything. I have to plug it in and reboot the computer and the itunes will recognise it.
Ok, still anyone got any idea... and is it really worth the trouble, or just download itunes in a month and hope it's been solved by then
i have to agree....itunes 7 sucks during installation. i don't know what apple did but it just sucks now. it is has many problems with stability and other whatnots. this makes me want to switch back to WMP. seriously. but i'm stuck since WMP doesn't play my AAC files i bought from itunes. damn you apple
