That's strange that Guns N Roses IIVelvet Revolver would send the best producer in the world packing...

EDIT: Will hit the nail on the head, their new name is Guns N' Pilots.

    DIY OR FUCKING DIE!

Produce you're own record if you don't like someone's style then you washed up rock stars.

I'm surprised anybody would want to produce Velvet Revolver, paid or not.

I'm gonna have to agree, they had a few good songs and that was about it, one of which being Fall To Pieces which sounded like GNR with Scott Weiland singing IMO.

I think Casey meant that they're pretentious rock stars that think they're big shit because they were in two bands that people consider "legends".

Like I said before, DIY or die. Produce your own record.

I would hardly consider the Stone Temple Pilots to be a legendary band. At the most, in 10 years, they'll only be remembered for having the frontman that was the precursor to Babyshambles' Pete Doherty.

You may not like them, but I don't see how you can argue with his logic. Some producers just don't click with some bands -- nothing wrong with that. It's not like he slammed him.

I'm not arguing with his logic that combined with the band not connecting with him, and Rubin having his plate full, that it didn't work out.

I'm arguing that Velvet Revolver blows, and I'm surprised that Rick Rubin agreed to produce their new album. Then again, he is working with some of the weakest bands to re-emerge this decade (Metallica, U2), so it's no surprise, I guess.

But that means Limp Bizkit is legendary... scary thought that.

Apparently VR are going a completely new direction this album, i'm definately interested to hear it. If I remember correctly one of the members said it was going to be a concept album ala Dark side of the moon. Surely not as good though.

Record sales don't make a legendary band. That just means they were popular, which I'm not disputing in the least.

EDIT: If we're going by the "record sales = legends", then I guess MC Hammer and Britney Spears are legends.

I should have said popular instead of legendary. My bad.

    Thing is..Velvet Revolver suck.

Ouch. I said it. So yeah, THEY are not good enough for Mr. Rubin!

Seriously, they just said fuck you to the best producer out there. They better hope for their sake that this 'new concept album' is amazing, cause Rick will be laughing his ass off if it's not. I'm sure of it.

Basically my opinion with a replacement. Yeah, they don't suck goats or anything, but I like the other 2 bands better myself. And I think Rick Rubin breathed a sigh of relief on his part because now he can worry about producing the new Metallica or working on the final part in Johnny Cash's American series.

Because trust me, if Rubin doesn't save Metallica, no one will.

I think LP needs more help at the moment what with all the pushbacks and fans on the edge. Everybody already hates new Metallica so there's no helping them.
