Norton killed my computer. Again. Sooo, after hearing so many people complain about it, and having it screw me over quite efficiently on several occasions, I'm definitly getting a new one.

The only ones I've heard of other than Norton are McAfee (which is supposed to suck just as much), AVG (I think I'm going to get this one), and Avast! (I've only heard about one person mention this, so I'm guessing it's unpopular for a reason).

So, which one of those should I get?

EDIT: McAfee off the list, so:
    Avast! or AVG
    I'm thinking AVG...

Make sure you fully get rid of Norton. ;)

AVG is great, but if you know how to get it (*cough*), I'd suggest NOD32 as the best. Avast is decent, but better than Norton and McAfee (what isn't?)

It's funny how whenever someone calls me to cleanup their virus-laden computer, I always find either Norton or McAfee installed. Hmm.

It's practically useless. It has horrible detection rates compared other others. Just because it's "popular" (*coughbrainwashingcough*), it doesn't mean it's any good.

    1)Bad detection rates
    2)Slows your computer down
3)Dedicated was having a ton of computer problems and then he deleted Norton, and all of his problems disappeared (posted in Tech Talk a while ago). Same with me.
