    The Departed

Overall, good movie. People were telling me that it's better than Goodfellas but they were definately wrong. The movie felt kinda rushed but the ending was awesome and unexpected. It would've been better with De Niro and the Italian Mob instead of Nicholson and the Irish mob in my opinion. I'm surprised Mark Wahlberg got a Best Supporting Actor nom and not Matt Damon.

    9/10

    Who's laughing now? PWN3D!

And Paul, I agree with the Goodfellas thing. Nothing can beat that movie, that's a fuckin' classic as well. But trust me, Departed is better than most of the shit sprawled out these days.

the departed is an awesome movie but you're right about goodfellas. i just watched casino this past weekend and while that is up there as well, it just isnt as good as goodfellas. as for :

i couldnt have said it better myself. it deserved the oscar for best picture. speaking of which, does anyone think dicaprio would have had a better chance of winning best actor if he had went with the departed as opposed to blood diamond? i know he was nominated for both but he had to pick one and he chose blood diamond which was a mistake IMO.

You can't nominate anyone from The Departed for a leading role because there really is no leading role. Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matt Damon all play leading roles in the film and it would be unfair to choose one of three because there is no clear-cut leading role.

    On another note:

I just saw The Prestige finally and I was not disappointed in the least. This movie will be near the top of my favorite movies list for a very long time. At first, it was pretty confusing but as it moved along, it cleared things up and at the end of the film, you're left wondering how the hell that movie just happened. 10/10

i know what you're saying but the academy felt he was worthy of a nomination for both blood diamond and the departed. but theres no way he could be nominated for best actor in two different films so they said he had to choose one. i know exactly what you're saying cause all three of them were in a leading role. i guess thats why he went with blood diamond where he was the clear cut leader.

    Reno 911: Miami.

3.5 stars - funny, but not as good as the show itself.

I saw Reno 911 last week too and thought the same. It was funny, but not as good as the TV show. It seemed rather short too.
