WOW, really cool i like the logo, it indicates LP is changing, so does the photo. Getting more exited about what the album will be....
I miss the Hybrid Theory era logo and looks Mike with red/blue/whatever hair and Chester all blonde and spikey. I was hoping Mike wouldn't bring his "hard ass hip-hop" image to LP, but meh.
I shouldn't be saying this because its very much 'inside info', but I found out some info about Linkin Park's logo and why it's so drastically different from their older stuff. The logo you see now was actually voted on by the band but is hardly 100% final. The band is currently throwing around different logo ideas and are testing the water to see how well the new logo idea is received. The goal of the band is to venture away from the whole spray painting/graffiti idea. The band is past that and is looking to move in a new direction in terms of their logos and art.
Yeah sorry. I didn't think they'd be angst filled 20 year olds forever, I kinda welcome a change. Now I want something more complex then that new logo, but yeah.
I hate myself for saying this, but it was time for a change. I say as much as I hate myself because change is scary. But no matter what happens I'm always going to support the band because they're genuinely talented and up until now, they've pretty much blown me away. Everything LP's produced up until now has been awesome, don't get me wrong. But there's always been that little 'I'm listening to near-pop music' feel to a few of the songs. It almost felt like a guilty pleasure, especially with some of the tracks on Meteora that seemed to be made for fans, and not really out of ingenuity. I blame Don Gilmore for that. As for the new logo, I'm glad it's not final. I like it and it looks pretty damn cool, but it also looks like the generic 'band logo' style. It kind of sucks they're moving away from the whole 'spray paint/grafitti' image. I think that really works in any situation, and especially worked well for Linkin Park, but I'm sure they're going to blow us away with any new adaptations. And with a mature, raw sound comes freedom from the fucking little teeny bitches who produce 'I spent all my money on CHESTER BENNINGTON' t-shirts and 'IM DREAMING OF MIKE SHINODA' pillowcases and selling them on ebay.
Wow, I really liked the graffiti/spraypaint style, sucks that they're moving away from it. Although, I don't really like the new logo that much, it's just ... plain, nor does it look very artistic. Clever, yes, but not really that great, imo. Hopefully they pick something a bit more advanced.
rolling stone says that they've shot a video for What I've Done in the deserts of California.....what do you guys think?? I will be reeeeeally pleased if they use CGI stuffs/kickass special effects....atleast that'd keep a mark of the "old LP"
http://sjl-static10.sjl.youtube.com/u/ZU9T1ceaOgwfLRq7OKFU4Q/profile_header.jpg So it'd seem like the logo we see here is the logo that will be put on their album. What do you guys think about it?
All I can say is that it looks "sharp", just like the other logo. Reminds me of the Kiss logo .....Judging from past LP logos, I feel that alot of thought did not went into its making.
The logo is great, and who cares how they look, you'll listen to them not look at them !! we'll you are right about that
Maybe you don't. But to me, LP and their artwork are inseparable. Moreover, I simply expressed my thoughts on the logo.
