Why the hell does anyone need more than one copy of the CD? It's a complete waste of money. And then to go buy the iTunes version too?

I think I'll stick to my habit of telling RIAA labels to shove it and get my music elsewhere.

I'll probably purchase a copy of this CD just... I guess to have it. The booklet, the art, etc.

I'll definitely be getting the leak when it comes out. I'll probably never listen to the actual CD.. oh well.

    both formats are yucky

    FLAC > *.*

    Although 192+kbit VBR MP3's aren't bad either....160/128 sound awful to me...forget AAC. :(

I mean that's my whole gripe with the buying online deal...I'm getting a file that's compressed in a lossy format. If I'm "paying" for the music I expect it to be of the highest quality.

    - Where can I pre-order these packages?
    - What about for all the non-iTunes users? (Maybe I can get an iPod for my birthday) :(
    - Does the DVD include the 'What I've Done' music video?
    - Does the DVD include the bonus tracks and LPTV episodes?
    - Are they only available for pre-order Wednesday?

    I need answers :p

I went ahead and bought the single from iTunes. However, as soon as I get the album, I'm going to rip the whole album in AIFF and probably delete the single. I know it's basically a complete waist of a dollar, but at least I'll have the track long enough until the album comes out.
I also dislike the AAC format, however, until somebody can point me to where I can obtain a full quality, uncompressed version of the track, I'll go ahead and keep it around until then.

(Yes, there really is a difference between formats. If anybody ever says anything different.)

Also, if anybody finds out whether or not those special editions will also have bonus tracks, please feel free to let us know.

I got the SE of Meteora when it came out and I'm going to keep the tradition with this one. I just want to know which one to get.

Linkin Park is trying to make their stuff cooler by releasing art and stuff with it, and it works. I really want the ultimate pack thing, but I know its gonna be really expensive (anything over like 15$ is expensive to me, I only get 24$ a month from my parents T_T and Im saving up for a new guitar) SO I really hope I can get it. And I hope they continue to sell the ultimate pack for a long time so I can get it when I have the money.

well you can buy it retail and rip it or buy it online and then obtain via your own methods an already "illegally" ripped album in FLAC.

Enjoy. I'm running a Denon AV unit in my PC with some high end headphones so AAC and the whatnot I'll hear imperfections in it. I hate being an audiophile sometimes.

The video does look nice streamed out to my 51" in 1440x612 resolution tho. :D

I could but that'd be against forum policy. I did buy the song but I did want my better quality to boot. :p

you must have your pc hooked up to your tv then, right? that'd be ridiculous if it was a 51" monitor  mine's displayed in a 17" 1280x1024 LG monitor.

    Da Linkin.... Park!

This is what I'll be getting, as long as the price is reasonable.

i've been following iTunes since about midnight (EST time) and they finally have a small logo on the main iTunes Store page that pops up every now and then (they must still be uploading the pre-order, etc.) here is what the pre-order page looks like so far:

sorry it's so big, gimme a second to resize

i don't feel like resizing, because then you can't even read the text, so just view the image here:

    http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b203/2xPutt/lppre.jpg

it looks like there will be 12 tracks

if you pre-order the iTunes exclusive, you get TWO more tracks. :D

I will laugh if the bonus tracks are live. But since they probably won't be, I'll preorder it most likely... then wait to hear the album until I buy it physically.

My educated guess is that the super special edition of MTM will cost between $30-40, give or take some. I could be way off though.

if you decide to get the shirt, I think it'll be somewhere near $40-50 around dragonninja's projection. and this is just my GUESS:

    Special Edition CD/DVD - $15-18
    Book - $10-20
    EXCLUSIVE T-shirt - $15-25

all in one bundle, so they will take some price off the top and throw it together in one big deal. i'm so excited
