Is it just me or is this song one of the best Linkin Park songs ever? The lyrics to this song are incredibly powerful and full of meaning, what are you thoughts on this track? ''With hands held high into a sky so blue''
i like it alot and im tired of people dissing it only because it talks about politics if they don't like it, don't listen to it and move on
I think the Amen in the chorus is incredibly cheesy. I only enjoy it towards the end when Mike starts singing.
Yeah, its a great song. No matter what people say about the chorus being so unoriginal and lazy, I love it. The ending is great, the rapping is great.
I was born Catholic, turned Atheist and I have to say the "amens" are a good touch. It's saying that what Mike raps about is truth to them and it touches them deeply. The chords are a plus. I need to spend a little more time listening to to so I can decipher the "With hands held high into..." part.
I think it's a good song. I don't really like Linkin Park's political-ness (lol) but I still think this is a great song. I mean, it sounds "Fort Minor-ish" because it's just Mike rapping, and that's just how he sounds since he worked with Fort Minor and improved his rapping. I don't see anything wrong with it.
its okay. never been one for political content in music, but its still a good track. you can tell mike wrote this very thoughtfully.
I'm not talking about Mike's rapping style.. I'm talking about the music itself, cause Mike raps in alot of LP songs but in the ones he raps in they don't sound like Fort Minor. And seeing as I'm not really down with most of the FM tracks, thus is why it bugs me.
I understand what you mean, but in the songs that sound like LP, its Mike rapping/Chester singing and/or screaming. Hands Held High is just supposed to be rap (obviously) which is why it sounds like Fort Minor. Lol, but I understand what you mean.
This song could be my favorite FM song, if were done by the name of 'Fort Minor' But it's Linkin Park, and the song doesn't sound too much LP. Anyway, its a good song, but not one of my favs.
Hands Held High is definitly a wonderful song, it's not my very favorite, but I love it. At first I was kind of like HHH and No More Sorrow are too political, but I don't really care anymore, I just love the way that they sound... Actually my brother from Cali called me today and said that this was his favorite song. He's not like really an Lp fan either, just listens to them because I do and he really liked this one the most. Maybe just because of the message that it sends? idk But yeah you know this album is blowing up when your brother calls you and says Hands Held high is his favorite song and everyone is playing it at his work and he is diging through the art work reading the lyrics and the process of the album being made...lol I also saw Lp on the tv screen playing live when I was checking out at Wal Mart the other day, that was awesome.
I love it, amazing song. And I don't have a problem with the amens either, breaks up the monotony and sounds good.
its definitely an awesome song. and when people say that it sounds "too fort minor" i just think that mike's rapping style has changed and grown just like the rest of the band. mike has become a better rapper. and has found better and bigger things to rap about rather then trivial things like how a relationship hurts.
