http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r108/johnzogby/ndreniteonstage013.jpg At two recent Gwen Stefani solo concerts, Gwen and her former bandmates from No Doubt have reunited to play 3-4 of their greatest hits (including Just A Girl, Spiderweb's and their cover of "It's My Life), suggesting that the band is hard at work on a new album and in the process of reuniting. Infact, rumor has it, we may have a new ND album as early as 2008. What do you all think about this? I'm happy. About time too, Gwen's solo stuff was terrible.
Her solo career had potential. Depending on who you ask, her run was either a huge success or a terrible disappointment. I loved the first album, sans a few cuts, but the second album was just godawful. It reeked of recycled pop beats and feel good lyrics. Oh, and Akon. Her whole image these days is basically The Vapors' hit song, I Think I'm Turning Japanese, come to reality. No Doubt back together... eh. It won't shake up the music industry, but Gwen does need the band back. She's lost her appeal, and she was quite on her way to being our generation's Janis Joplin or Pat Benatar, but with a wider audience. I remember Gwen Stefani circa Ex-Girlfriend being one of my first big celebrity crushes. I think it was the pink hair.
I'd be happy if they got back together. I love No Doubt and personally think that Gwen was a lot better with them than she is in her current solo career. If they do get back together I heard that it'd be for just like one album and then that's it. I'm not really bothered whether they get back together or not, but it would be nice to see what they come out with, especially after Gwens solo career.
If this means a break from her solo career, then this is the most important thing that could happen to the music industry and my ears.
I really hope if they get back together that they don't make another cd like their last one. It was shit. Tragic kingdom was their best, ever. Third.
NOTE TO ALL BANDS: Stop it. Stop reuniting. You'll never reach your "glory" days. Just stop it. Everytime a band reunites it really just doesn't work out and I can't keep track of all you eh uhm... fuckers running around now. Even though I do have an attraction to Ms. Stefani and I'll consider going to see them live... maybe.
