Actually, now that I think about it, I've always liked Immortal's music, but their promo pics are so damn stupid.

Haven't listened to them, but their pictures are damn hilarious.

And for my Cds, I Black Metal'd out, because the HMV in West Edmonton Mall is the only one that carries it. I got De Mysteriis, Dark Medieval Times by Satyricon, and the Emperial Live Ceremony DVD by Emperor.

An other question, what is the best Metal magazine? I subscribe to Revolver, but they cover too much mainstream music for my taste, so I'm thinking about getting an other one too.

Metal Maniacs covers a lot of black/death metal...

    ---

I've been listening to a LOT of Meshuggah lately, and they're quite a unique band. The 8 string riffs, Jens Kidman's demented vocals, and most importantly, the way Tomas Haake has his feet doubling the riffs and his hands playing an entirely different beat. GREAT band.

I'd say Nothing. Wow, I haven't listened to Meshuggah in ages but they are amazing.

Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere or Nothing.

you know you're good when 90% of your rhythms are exactly the same but you still sound awesome...

I was never really into grindcore, either but I like them. I thought they incorporated a lot of death metal into their sound, though...

I had never heard of them until the other day when I was at Hot Topic looking through the music and I saw Xeniosapien and the album art and title jumped out at me.

    -------------------------------------------

So so far the metal bands I'm into are

    As I Lay Dying
    The Black Dahlia Murder
    Cannibal Corpse
    Cephalic Carnage
    Children of Bodom (obviously...)
    Devildriver
    Dragonforce
    Morbid Angel
    Napalm Death
    Pantera
    Slayer
    Thine Eyes Bleed

And I used to have a couple of Despised Icon songs on my iPod but they seem to have disappeared.

I need to get into some black metal, any suggestions..?

I'm currently in love with Sonata Arctica's song "For The Sake Of Revenge", and I'm buying Unia too. Though I heard that this album is a dissapointment for some SA fans. Is that true?.

And I'm also listening to Within Temptation's "The Howling". Amazing!

Best band of their genre by far

too bad 95% of that album sucks

    www.myspace.com/damascus

you go to Hot Topic? tsk tsk. do they still at least sell wristbands there?

if you like Corpse and Angel, listen to Death. I'd also recommend you Damageplan, Kreator, OLD! Sepultura, At The Gates, The Haunted and Meshuggah.

For black metal, stick to Mayhem and Emperor.

old Fear Factory is fucking amazing, and listen to Morbid Angel instead of Deicide. ;)

Yeah, I like Conforming To Abnormality better.

And where is a teenage girl with no job to get her stuff besides Hot Topic?

*goes to listen to recommended bands*

if you like Black Dahlia, listen to Damascus.

As for HT, I was in about 4 different ones in the USA about a month ago and the heaviest band merch they had there was Hellyeah, not to mention a COMPLETE lack of Dimebag Hardware

Well, IIRC, I saw Black Dahlia and Cephalic Carnage on hottopic.com and not at an actual store.

It's cuz all the emo and indie kids are shopping there now they're starting to change their merch.

EDIT: *realizing who you were talking to when you said 95% of that album sucked* I didn't see the people you quoted because I didn't read your whole post until I went to quote you...
