hi guys I wanted to know what your personal thoughts are on why "Easier to Run" was surverely underated by most LP fans on this forum. I for one thought it was a eally good offsetting track to the rest of the album's hardness. It was a song that helped me through my break up with my ex gf from way back in the summer of 69' lol. It did seem easier to run and it was easier to go. But that's my persoanl opinion with it...balls in your court

I love listening to it while laying in the center of an empty basketball court.

I thought it was alright, great lyrics and all but it really is quite average. I my self am not really keen on it. It isn't their best, it's more like a combination of their not so good songs (tough don't get me wrong they're all great)

The reason why Easier To Run is underrated is probably because people find the song too ballad, soft and that Chester's voice was too dull and boring compare to the other energetic songs off of Meteora with their loud(ish) banging simple guitar riffs. That's about what I think why Easier To Run is underrated, it was something slightly different than the other materials and people sometimes call it Crawling Number 2.

And that's what some people also think of Minutes To Midnight.

    That'd be the main reason.
I like it though, good song anyway.

Personally, I think that Easier to Run was so underrated simply because of its style. It was really soft and I mean, there wasn't really a soft song on Hybrid Theory. It was a turn from what people were wanting/expecting to be on Meteora.

I think it's a good song and I enjoy listening to it, but I suppose a lot of other people feel otherwise. It's a song on the album that shows any sort of step outside the box for Linkin Park at that time (besides Breaking the Habit). It's a lot like Crawling but it's also rather different. The drum beat is kind of complex and the guitar is nice. It's a powerful, emotional song altogether. I like it.

Exactly how I feel. Its lyrics are alot deeper than you first think.

When I first heard meteora in 2004-2005 it was the only song I couldn't find & download on the net. But my old girlfriend found it for me just before I went on holiday to greece for 2 weeks. Since then I've always had a strong emotional conection with this song, as it seemed to go so well with my holiday.
Coinsidently as the song was from an Album that was named and inspired by the monistaries on top of a rock formation in greece.^_^

I think its one of LP best Power Ballads & I love the bassline.

Yeah I basically had meteora on repeat for ages after I bought it. And by no means was easier to run a song I skipped past. If in a skipping mood it was Nobody's Listening and that was very rarely.

It's one of my favorite songs on Meteora. Chester's voice is amazing there.

Lyrics of Easier to run are one of the best of LP specially these two lines
"Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
And never moving forward so there'd never be a past"

    Thirded.

Easier To Run wasn't as dynamic as the hit singles on the album and the band themselves said that they wanted the album to be more dynamic, which in my mind means thrashing guitar noise. ;)
