    oh NO!

With all eyes on the Disney Channel premiere of High School Musical 2 tonight, industry pundits are openly pondering if the Walt Disney Records soundtrack could top 600k in first-week sales and even best the year’s previous high, Linkin Park’s total of 625k back in May. However you slice it, Disney will have both #1 and #2 on next week’s chart, as Hannah Montana 2/Mylie Cyrus is looking like the runner-up with between 90-95k. The rest of the Top 10 includes...WB’s Linkin Park (#10, 35-40k).

That is good it is still in the top 10, but they may lose the best first week sales! (to a Disney movie!) I doubt they will hold up to Kanye West and 50 Cent though, but being beat by a Disney movie? :(

Well, people buy music if they like it. If the Disney Soundtrack sells well, it's cause people want to buy it.

So what if it outsells Linkin Park?
    It's just a number.

Heck, some of the best music out there comes from unsigned bands that can't even sell 20 records in a month, let alone 20 thousand.

I know kids that age buy it, but I mean enough to be at #1? And I'm sorry if I offended you.

Yeah well the music industry is ever so changing, the most popular band of yesterday could become the worse band of today.

Let me ask you all questions, who gives a shit about charts?
Seriously, my friends and I would kill to be 200 on the damn charts.

Be thankful they made it and enjoy the music, let there label worry about how much they sell.

The music industry is a load of crap.

Screw the charts. Some of the worst musicians I can think of make it onto the charts.

Working in the entertainment department at Target, I'm always amazed at how quickly those CDs sell out...definitely not what I call good music, but they're popular as hell.

I understand that charts are meaningless in the grander scheme of things, but on principle, Hannah Montana outselling Linkin Park makes me sad.

High School Music is popular all around the world. It's a big hit almost everywhere.

    I'm not surprised at all.
