Well I was thinking that lpassociation could have an official account on youtube and all the members could post their videos on that account? I don't know, it may be an okay idea.
I don't get how that would work. If anyone can upload a video to it then wouldn't you need to give out the password to everyone? You'd get some bugger changing it within seconds. Plus, there's the ever nagging problem of copyright law.
They could PM the password out to like, just Supermembers or something. I'd like to see it happen anyway.
How about the Admin keep the password, but the video must pass through their eyes first. if they like it, it goes up. if not, its rejected.
Well then it's up to Derek etc. if they can be bothered maintaining it. Personally, I can't see any worthwhile content being uploaded to it apart from even more people attempting to cover MTM tracks, and god help us we don't need any more of that
but still, even supermembers could turn bad one day. and then you'd have people putting up completely stupid/bad stuff. i think they idea of maybe all the admins having the password is better, cause then at least its just not all put onto one person to do it.
It's one more thing for the admins to do. They already do enough as it is. Good idea, just hard to maintain and keep going really
Unless there was something like 5 people who were the LPAssociation youtube team and they(and admins) would only have the password and if people wanted to upload videos then the video's would be sent to them. I wouldn't mind helping, i spend a lot of my life on Youtube anyway
That would be a much better idea. The only qualm I have about the whole thing, like i've said is, what exactly are people going to upload to the account? Is there actually any worthwhile content to put up? I doubt there would be, BUT, if someone were to put together an LPA youtube show, created specifically to go on there, then you might be on to something.
Instead of a Post your Picture, have like a Post your Video thread or something? Or maybe have the random option of being able to say, post 'campaign videos' for LPA Awards, or videos for other threads, like Got Something You Want To Let Out?
Well there might be some talented video makers out there that want to upload their videos, tonnes of stuff people could upload, just need the admins to decide on this whole thing
Yeah that's true. I suppose it could all work in theory. If Derek or someone wanted to we could at least trial it and see what happens.
I personally don't believe there'd be any significance in having an LPA Youtube account. Campaign videos have no relevance outside of LPA and we wouldn't be able to have any LP-related videos on the account due to copyright reasons so there's really nothing that could be put on it. Not to mention as the team, we'd have to download, watch, review, decide and upload which videos we deem appropriate and that's a lot of extra work for something so random. If you feel differently ask yourself how would it be any different from uploading your own videos to your own account? What would be so special about LPA's videos? Unfortunately, from what's been discussed in this thread, I don't see any purpose that an LPA Youtube account could serve. But I'd be glad to change my mind if someone can prove me otherwise.
