That is the point I was trying to get across. Just better wording on Derek's behalf.

It's true though! Guys in movies walk around in their underwear very often (Will Smith in I, Robot for example). I'm not sure why Chester is any different cause its a music video.

I guess it's because no one is used to seeing him like that. I personally don't care and don't see the big deal either, lol.

Maybe Joe will top it next time and have them all sitting around, jamming in their undies. LOL!

Just saw the video, it's cool but just a few things:
-isn't that the same boxer Chester wore on the MTM dvd?
-that sink part made me think of the crawling video.

I don't understand how people can like the video without the sounds. To me, without the sounds the music does not match the theme of the video at all. It is the sounds that bring it all together.

That would be my own personal opinion though, and I understand that other people's opinion may differ from my own.

I think the sounds make the video more enveloping. If it was just the song playing, the video would lack immediacy, seeing as it's such a relaxing song,
and such an energetic video (after the first minute-and-a-half). I dunno, I thought it worked really well. It was a very unexpected turn of events, which makes it more exciting. It's definitely not how I envisioned the video being,
which is a good thing. :)

Couldn't have put it better myself regarding the sound.

    Nice disclaimer.

When I listen to Shadow of the Day, a slow melodic song, I don't envision gunshots going off in the background and rioting. I don't care if the sound effects bring the video and song together, because the concept of the video doesn't really fit the song. The sound effects just embolden a general lack of cohesion in the interpretation of the song. There's too much of a contrast.

Joe's been pretty suspect over the last few videos.

I really like the video actually and I think that with or without the sounds, either way sounds and looks really good.

I kinda chuckled in the beginning though, Chester just looked funny walking around in his underwear eating toast and flipping through tv channels. As the video progressed though, I really enjoyed the concept. It's very different compared to Joe's concepts of their past videos, IMO.

I wonder if they'll have a "Making of" for this video.

    - the scene where Chester lies in bed reminds me of Somewhere I belong
    - the riot reminds me of From the Inside
    - the sink part made me think of crawling and Live in Texas
    - the gloomy room and the pictures on the wall remind me slightly of Papercut

    Strange...

But I have an other question: Can anybody tell me, in which way the video supports the content of the song?
