New year, new version of the thread.

Rules are the same's as Cameron's...but if you're in a cave, i'm posting them again. Reference goes out to him. ;)

Predicitons will be allowed to a certain extent. Since there's nothing out in 2008 yet, you can list any anticipated releases that you know of. Come a couple months then, you may only make predictions if you have heard at least 2 or 3 songs from that release.

Secondly, I thought I change things around again by removing rereleases from the mix. By rereleases, I mean reprints, greatest hits albums, and deluxe/special editions (IE. O' God, the Aftermath: The Marvelous End of...). Since you've already heard the material from the previous year (or years), there's really no need to include it again in your list. If, by some freak coincidence it is released twice next year, then you can include it.

    Happy posting.

So far, the only songs I've heard which allow me to make a prediction are from Protest the Hero's Fortress. Having heard Bloodmeat and Sequoia Throne, it looks like this might remain rather high up on my list for alot of the year.

    Goliath is fantastic.

Where did the Mars Volta thread go? I'm behind the 8-ball in regards to them.

Presuming that The Bronx release their albums, which they probably will, I wouldn't bet against them being the best if they're even half as good as the previous two.

    Also:
    Alexisonfire
    Boris
Bossk - if they ever decide to release a full-length, this year would be nice.
    Brand New
    The Cavalera Conspiracy
    Deftones
Deltron 3030 and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien
    Franz Ferdinand
    Gallows
    Glassjaw
    Los Campesinos!
    Lostprophets
    Lupe Fiasco
    The Mars Volta
    Mike Patton
    R.E.M.
    Rise Against
    The Roots
    Saosin
    Social Distortion
    We Are Scientists
    Weezer

Also, given how low my expectations are, it shouldn't take a lot for the new Metallica to impress me.

There's a lot albums that I'm waiting for.
Sadly, most of those bands haven't released songs.
Some of them did it, anyway :

    Machinae Supremacy - Overworld [February 13th, 2008]

I love their previous albums, and now they released a song that will be on their new album. It's a B.Spears' cover of the song 'Gimme More'. I think they did a great work with that.

    Lostprophets - Untitled [Summer 2008]

They played like 4 new songs on their last tour, and all of them sounded awesome. Even if those songs won't be on the new album, I think this is going to be GREAT ! It seems like old lostprophets sound will be back.

    1. God Fires Man: "A Billion Balconies Facing the Sun" (comes out in May... but it's already "out" ;))

Will probably hold that position the whole year, too.
