    Lyrics

Here at the lyrics (relayed to the best of my ability).
There are sure to be some errors in there somewhere. There are several grunts and gestures like "Yes" during the first verse, but I just left 'em out. Enjoy?

    []
    Together we made it
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall

See, a nigga survived the worst but my life is glorious
But I know that I leaped every hurtle and I'm so victorious
Take a look, I'm a symbol of greatness now call a nigga Morpheus
As a force securing the win but they believe I'm so notorious
You know that I've been by my bread even though we rapping now
And we used to live on the strip even though we nigga higher level trapping now
Superceded every one of my little struggles and throwing hands never ever been an option
A nigga paper long like rushing with traffic and I'm about to take the hood and shop it, get it

Together we made it (You see, we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (Come on)
    Forever we waited (Ha ha)
And they told us we were never going to get it but we took it
On the road (To the riches)
On the road (To the ghetto)
On the road (In the projects to this bangin' instrumental)
On the road (Ride with me)
On the road (Come and get it)
On the road (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Yo, when it all got started we was steadily just getting rejected
And it seemed like nothing we could do would ever get us respected
At best, we were stressed, at the worst they probably said we're pathetic
Had all the pieces to that puzzle, just no way to connect it
I was fighting through every rhyme, tightening up every line
Never resting the question if I was out of my mind
It finally came time to do it or let it die
So put the chips on the table and told 'em to let it ride, sing it, yeah

Together we made it (You see, we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (Come on)
    Forever we waited (Ha ha)
And they told us we were never going to get it but we took it
On the road (To the riches)
On the road (To the ghetto)
On the road (In the projects to this bangin' instrumental)
On the road (Ride with me)
On the road (Come and get it)
On the road (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Look, in case you misunderstand exactly what I'm building
The shit that I can leave for my children (children), children (children)
Now at home I wake up and I smile to see how far I've come
Fighting for sales on a strip to regain the hustle from
From nights I jam on a bench using my muscles, son
To counting money like Dre and Jimmy and Russel once
But now I live when I dream, you see we finally did it
Let's make a toast to the hustle, regardless how you did it, sing it

Together we made it (You see, we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (Come on)
    Forever we waited (Ha ha)
And they told us we were never going to get it but we took it
On the road (To the riches)
On the road (To the ghetto)
On the road (In the projects to this bangin' instrumental)
On the road (Ride with me)
On the road (Come and get it)
On the road (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
    Ohh (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

Cool video although I don't fully understand it's meaning lol.
And they should'nt have put so many effects on Chester's voice, not that it's a bad thing in this song, but his voice really doesn't fit the video (I mean you see him screaming at some points but his voice doesn't change).

I think that's pretty much accurate. But I made a few really minor adjustments in that quote and I don't remember where ... ;)

i love the video!! it's sort of a new side of LP..
and I DO like the censored version better.. it's weird.. but i do.. i cant wait to see it on BET or MTV.. hopefully it becomes a hit! even though it might make LP seem like sell out I dont care, the track is decent and the video is great!

Mikes Parts were the ONLY thing I liked about this. Chester sounded sooooo out of place, Mike was awesome on the Piano and I liked his parts. And..Busta?...ehhh no.

I really don't understand the mindset of those who think that if musical artists stray off from their usual style, they are often slammed as being sell outs. Like what the fuck?

I don't get why the fact that it's Busta's track should make him immune to criticism over it. Busta's parts are the weakest thing about the track.

exactly..Linkin Park are FARRRRR from sellouts..my god, they STILL had a number one single for as long as "Numb" was.."What I've Done" was nearly 12 weeks i believe. "Minutes to Midnight" killed the charts as well..breaking records and shit..Linkin Park are still amazing even though they changed their musical style..and i like their change..of course i love their old stuff, but their new musical style is great.

Um, I don't think they are sellouts, but saying they had massive commercial success definitely isn't evidence AGAINST them selling out <_<

I just don't know, I don't really like Busta and having LP in it won't change my opinion. I like Mikes rap, it's kind of mellow and it sounds good.
