I think that Linkin Park's lyrics are generally pathetic Max Bemis writes awesome lyrics though. I also think that FOB have some good lyrics and Forever The Sickest Kids. I usually judge bands I like on lyrics because I think there's gotta be some meaning there. I'd say one of the best lyricists around at the moment is Lupe Fiasco though.
Lupe Fiasco - the mans a genius full stop. but when it comes to lryrics, he is truely great - dunno if you class him as a bnd though
Circa Survive Killswitch Engage Saosin (Old preferably but Cove, Chris and Beau make some good ones.) The Beatles The Dear Hunter Angels And Airwaves Coheed And Cambria System Of A Down Panic At The Disco Queen Breaking Benjamin Pink Floyd YAY FOR DIVERSITY! thats my list, after Circa everything is in random order.
Haha, I forgot Pink Floyd. If Nick hadn't listed them in his post, I wouldn't have listed them this time around. Pink Floyd Nirvana (haha, call me weird) Stormbringer Silversun Pickups Panic At The Disco
From Autumn to Ashes Killswitch Engage All That Remains Shadows Fall Coheed and Cambria The Devil Wears Prada Saosin Thrice Thursday Yellowcard Fall Out Boy Panic at the Disco Mayday Parade
AFI has far and away the best lyrics for me. Lupe Fiasco's raps are so deep and intricate. Brand New is also very deep.
Fall Out Boy is definitely right up there. Lupe Fiasco. All That Remains. Protest the Hero (at least on Kezia). Killswitch Engage. Shadows Fall. At the Drive-In/The Mars Volta. Brand New. The only one of mine that hasn't been mentioned so far is Protest the Hero.
Not a band but I gotta go with Common or Black Thought from The Roots. EDIT: I'm sorry, but Linkin Park? I know it's your opinion but I write better lyrics when I'm taking a shit.
Definitely. Common has his moments as well. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. He writes about some pretty novel things, at least. Against Me!. Fantomas as well, that's poetry right there.
Well, definitely: My Chemical Romance (<3) Fall Out Boy Jawbreaker (I'm wit'chu, Dean) At The Drive-In/The Mars Volta Smashing Pumpkins, mofo! Every Time I Die QUEEN, OF COURSE. Green Day Radiohead (yah) Panic At The Disco From Autumn To Ashes ...and yeah, probably lots more, but hey.
This is not to attack anyone but I am just wondering if they can post an example of Queen lyrics they think are really good? I don't mind Queen, but always found their lyrics ranged from poor to mediocre and am hoping to see why some people love them. Thanks in advance
Dude, Queen has a lot of amazing songs with great lyrics, it's hard to just pick one as an example. One of the songs that always pull at my heartstrings by them, is Bohemian Rhapsody, and it's both lyrically and instrumentally. http://artists.letssingit.com/queen-lyrics-bohemian-rhapsody-9kd95tx And y'know, listen to the song while reading.
Theres no time for us Theres no place for us What is this thing that builds our dreams yet slips away From us Who wants to live forever Who wants to live forever....? Theres no chance for us Its all decided for us This world has only one sweet moment set aside for us Who wants to live forever Who wants to live forever? Who dares to love forever? When love must die But touch my tears with your lips Touch my world with your fingertips And we can have forever And we can love forever Forever is our today Who wants to live forever Who wants to live forever? Forever is our today Who waits forever anyway?
Thrice Panic At The Disco My Chemical Romance Linkin Park for those angsty moments Ashes Divide definitely
