First Guitar Hero IV Details Shed In all honesty, I'm more looking forward to Van Halen and Sublime, but I'm sure you all will be excited Thanks to chadzero and Shadey!
It's still early. I hope these bands make it into the game, as well as the rumored One-Armed Scissor by At the Drive In but Mindless Self Indulgence was rumored for Guitar Hero III and never showed up on the game at all. IGN didn't report any artists just some details that included a drum kit and custom songs.
This doesn't interest me sadly as I am completely addicted to Rock Band, and have not played a GH release since GHII. Now if they had an LP song as a an officially licensed Xbox360 DLC for Rock Band, than I think we'd actually be getting somewhere .
Well Guitar Hero IV is introducing instruments. So these songs will involve more than just Guitar. They think they need to compete with Rock Band.
guitar hero is the same maker as rock band. i thought. but i dont understand its GUITAR hero not lets add another instrument in and call it guitar hero. i know that "no more sorrow" by linkin park is up for download on GHIII for PS3. but im glad they are putting in linkin park into guitar hero.
The maker of Rock Band used to own Guitar Hero but sold it off and now the companies are competing with each other. So in a way, the same company created the franchises but now different companies own them.
Nah, it only has 5, so just one more than RB (three drums, and two cymbals). http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c171/zygote7/5.jpg And the creator of Guitar Hero (Harmonix) didn't sell the property off. What happened is that Red Octane, whom is a game hardware manufacter, had the idea about a rhythm game with a guitar controller. Harmonix is know for these kinds of games, so they made the hardware while Harmonix made the software. This happened for GH 1 and 2. WELL, MTV Games ended up buying Harmonix, which has gone on to make Rock Band. Red Octane was bought up by Activision, who had Neversoft make GH3 (Neversoft is known for the Tony Hawk series). So that's what happened with that.... sorry bout the history lesson, huge nerd with these games, haha. And Derek, you're right, Rock Band is better in sooo many ways.
I really think the history of Neversoft/Activision and MTV Games/Harmoinx is interesting, but why isn't there any talk about what song it may be? My guess if it is a standard song and not DLC is One Step Closer. Popular among a vast percentage of the target audience.
That would be good if we got the master tracks for One Step Closer, at the very least because it is from a different album to No More Sorrow.
Well it's limited what song they put in because of vocals. It won't be Faint because it has two distinct vocal parts. So as I see it it could only be OSC, Crawling, Runaway, Pushing Me Away, Don't Stay, BTH, Numb, Given Up, LOATR, Shadow, WID, NMS, Valentine's Day, In Between, In Pieces, Little Things. Obviously it won't be some of those though. My guess is What I've Done or they just recycle No More Sorrow
If you count the bass drum, it's 6 and 5 for Rock Band. Not too happy about the whole GHIV concept though, seems like Neversoft just wants to rip off Rock Band now. Not to mention how they're trying to pass Harmonix's game off as "imitators" when Harmonix fucking created the GH franchise in the first place. I bought GHIII and was sorely disappointed in what Neversoft did to it. Looks like I won't be buying any future Neversoft "Guitar Hero" games (I put that name in quotes for a good reason).
I've been playing Guitar Hero for a long time and have only seen 1 downloadable song by Linkin Park. I've always wondered when they'd get more songs by them in Guitar Hero. Now, they are going to be one of the main bands in #4 so I am really happy now! Can't wait to get GH IV!
