So, you can download a track called All Hope Is Gone from Slipknot's upcoming album here. However, it's only available for (at the time of posting this) just under 15 hours. It's okay, not bad by any means but not one of their better songs either.
The chorus is decent enough, and the mini solo thrown in like a minute and a half in is fun, i liked where they were going on "The Subliminal Verses" album but this looks like they're returning to old form. Not a fan of the song, hopefully the album will have some better results.
I think the song is pretty decent, but I'd have to agree that this sounds like a step back. It's more akin to something off of Iowa than what they did on the Subliminal Verses, which isn't a bad thing, but not what I was anticipating. It's like the song is heavy, just for the sake of being heavy. *shrugs*
I thought that the song was a little hard to swallow at first, but once the chorus kicked in I was hooked. Personally, I like it. In all honesty though, I hope to hell that they'll push out an album that tops Vol.3, but I doubt it. The biggest interest in mind regarding the band would have to be the 'evolution' of their masks. I definitely can't wait to see how they've been altered, or changed completely.
Rolling Stone Magazine did a track-by-track review of the first six songs here I've gotta say that with those descriptions I'm very much intregued to hear the album.
I've heard that the songs are very different, so hopefully this album will be like Volume III. I also hope the new producer can continue what Rick Rubin was trying to accomplish. I'm not impressed with this track.
I thought Slipknot was done after the last album? And the album before that.... and that... It's alright, though.
All Hope Is Gone is NOT the first single (promo) of their new upcoming album the first one is Psychsocial Cover preview and here's a preview http://www.nuclearblast-musicshop.de/sample.swf?id=129484 It will be delivered to radio on June 30 and will be available digitally on July 1.
You can listen to both the first single (psychosocial) and all hope is gone from the radio station 100.3 The Edge. http://www.edgelittlerock.com/pages/slipknot.html?_show I'm really looking forward to this cd. I think both the songs sound great.
