Linkin Park wins Best Rock Video!

Congratulations to Linkin Park for winning Best Rock Video for "Shadow of the Day" at tonight's MTV VMA's! They successfully beat out Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Slipknot and Paramore for the coveted moonman.

Shia LaBeouf and Slash presented the award and Chester and Joe were there to accept the award on behalf of the entire band.

 

Joe...did not look pleased

 

Chester was like "this guy"... is that all he is!?! he's just "this guy... right here..." *slap on the shoulder* lol

I did not think they would win at all.

 

yeah, neither did i to be honest!

 

Nor did I. I was pretty sure those Fighters of Foo were going to get it - with that whole "following in the footsteps of Green Day and Metallica"... I mean, LP should never be put in a category with them - LP is way better than that!

I personally would have rathered another band won, but congrats to LP.

 

I'm still shocked that Britney beat the Jonas Brothers on both awards they were nominated in. I would rather have had even them win. They're pretty alright to me when it comes to music. but Piece of Me? Wow. Tokio Hotel blew me away with the New Artist win, hah.

Anyways, surprising win, LP.

 

Isn't he a good friend of Chester's? With their performance at Camp Freddy and all, he could have laughed out of just being good friends with him, if you know what i'm trying to mean.

 

That's exactly what I thought when I saw him laugh.

 

Chester and Slash are good friends, to the point that Chester was briefly rumored to be Scott Weiland's replacement in Velvet Revolver.

Anyway, I wish the VMAs didn't seem so fake these days...maybe then I'd care more about whether or not LP wins one.

 

The reason I no longer watch anything MTV related...

 

He's good friends with Chester. He laughed the same way I would have a grin on my face if I was announcing the winner of an award to my friend.

 

It's a good win, regardless of what shitty channel hosted it.
To beat The Pretender is quite an achievement, considering the insane popularity of that song.
