Red's Innocence And Instinct ARG

alright, with the news that RED is releasing their new CD in February, they have started up an ARG, similar to the Nine Inch Nails Year Zero ARG, although not quite as detailed. Has anyone "started the journey" yet?

1. If you wait, and click on the "N" that is flashing with the "6" in the 3rd "word"(as I presume it is), it takes you to a login where it asks if you are Dante and willing to begin your journey. If you enter incorrectly and close out, it will take you to a myspace for a man presumed as "Dante" (http://www.myspace.com/dante_466). You search through the comments and find the code "IIXMMIX". Enter it on the main page when it asks if you are Dante and it takes you back to the main page with the welcome message "Welcome Dante, your journey begins"

2. After completing that, the "2" in the first "word" now flashes "C" and the "6" in the last word still flashes "N". Now once you click on the "N", it takes you to http://www.466623623-263-46784628.com/ticktock/ which pulls up a Countdown clock presumably to February 10th which is the release date . If you click on the C, it takes you to: http://www.466623623-263-46784628.com/abandonallhope/ where it gives you a passage/quote, but if you highlight the entire page, it gives you a much more detailed story.

And thus leaves me where I'm at right now. Has anyone began Dante's journey? Has anyone COMPLETED Dante's Journey?

This is so exciting.


Also, I believe the "intro" and maybe part of their first single "Death Of Me" is in a freaky youtube video posted by "Dante's friend" "Charon" [YOUTUBE]AyUbNTKcJr4[/YOUTUBE]

 

If you goto http://www.466623623-263-46784628.com/abandonallhope/ and highlight all, you will find a website http://www.abandonallhope.net that when taken there, it says something along the lines of "abandon all hope, ye who enter". With another sound clip playing which sounds like another part of their song, you can hear the clip at: http://www.abandonallhope.net/bg.mp3. You are then taken to an image of a printable picture, which assumingly is part of a much bigger picture you will be able to piece together when you print them all out.

also within the highlighted areas, two things stood out

Not sure if it has something to do with the band, but there are two samples on saligia.com which is the capitilized letters in the "Gold Key" word.

just unearthing more clues here. if you goto http://www.virgilsusedbooks.com/ through Dante's myspace profile, you are taken to a fake book store website. if you enter anything into the search and hit enter, you are taken to a custom "RED" google. "Search" and "I'm Feeling Red" takes you to Red's myspace, the links below take you to siligia.com and up top if you click on "Maps" it takes you to http://www.virgilsusedbooks.com/maps.html . The other top links send you to the myspace profiles of Charon and Beatrice.

I tried to call the 1-931-398-0933 number on Virgil's Book store's website, but no one picked up, it rang and took me to a voicemail that said "the xxxxx customer is not responding because the phone is off or they are outside of their area"

AHHHHHH! if you goto Virgil's book store and click on "Classics" and scroll down, click on the image under the text "Book Of The Month", then click the image again, you are now taken to The Inferno, but the youtube video on the page, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOZhpIIy69w , has been removed by the user... hmmmm

And now, after over an hour of sluething, I am stumped and have run out of clues to continue the journey. I have 2 images of the 19 (as labeled) and I am hungry for more of this

 

I bet Dante's Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso would offer more clues, but those books are so deep that I doubt anyone but a college English professor would be able to help out.

 

Red will release both a standard and deluxe edition of their new album ‘Innocence & Instinct‘ on February 10th. The deluxe edition features four bonus tracks, music video for the track “Death of Me” and a “making of” documentary.

Edit 2: Charon is the ferryman that took the dead across the River Styx. I can't remember if he is mentioned in the book or not, I will research that.

From Wikipedia: Styx was primarily a feature in the afterworld of Greek mythology, but has been described as a feature present in the hell of Christianity as well, notably in The Divine Comedy and also "Paradise Lost". The ferryman Charon is in modern times commonly believed to have transported the souls of the newly dead across this river into the underworld, though in the original Greek and Roman sources, as well as in Dante, it was the river Acheron that Charon plied. Dante put Phlegyas over the Styx and made it the fifth circle of Hell, where the wrathful and sullen are punished by being drowned in the muddy waters for eternity.
