It'b be nice to have a blowjob It'b be nice to have a blowjob It'b be nice to have a blowjob It'b be nice to have a blowjob from your mom Now that's poetry
Word of advice: read his interview with absolutepunk.net then decide whether you stick by that statement.
If that is the one where he tells a lot of info about how stupid he realizes he was and what went on and stuff? I love that interview. Here is a small little interview they did after The Grammy's HERE
Wrong it stands for Emotive Hardcore, which is an 80's genre for bands like Rites Of Spring. Emo nowadays is just a term used by the media and fuckwit twelve year olds.
I love how they play powerchords! They play powerchords like no one else. Revolutionary if you ask me.
That's odd. I love the way they write songs like no one else. Genuine, relatable lyrics, that despite being simple are unique and respectable simply because we all know they're real. Backed by excellent drum work, and a guitar and bass duo that compliment each other better than most other bands could ever achieve, even in their simplicity.
Oh really? Well i love how after many years they can still related to teens and their fantasies of fucking dogs and getting blowjobs from their mothers. Their music gives these great messages a backing that at times can be so simple with ordinary power chords and root notes on the bass, but other times with complex musicianship, utilizing poly rhythms in their song 'The Party Song'. And behind the musicians is their great drummer Travis, who keeps them in time whilst doing extreme fills. They also know how to mix it up with their lyrical ideas, ranging from fucking dogs to wondering what their age is again to err... missing someone. These assets build for strong chemistry between the band members making them easily the greatest pop punk band of all time. and i'm not even a fan
1. I think it's missing the point somewhat to criticise them for writing simplistic music. They're a pop-punk band, not Hawkwind. 2. You've judged the lyrical content of their whole five album output based on about four songs. There are plenty of musicians who are better lyricists but aren't as varied. Granted, there probably isn't as much variety as there is with certain other bands but there's more than they often get credit for.
no seriously, hardly any of that was sarcastic. I wrote what i loved about them and the part that was sarcastic was the lyrical range thing and i like that the lyrics aren't that varied. But i'm just saying that all these things can be great about a band, but yet i still am not a fan. By the way there are poly rhythms in The Party Song, the vocal melody is the thing that throws it off i think. And i have listened to Enema Of The State many times so it's not like what i say is complete shit.
I dare any male to honestly tell me they can't relate to Wasting Time, even if it's embarassing to admitt it.
