Linkin Park will be performing at the inaugural Sonisphere festivals this summer, alongside Metallica, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and more. Currently announced dates are July 25th in Pori, Finland, and August 1st in Knebworth, England. More information can be found at www.sonispherefestivals.com. Chester also mentioned in an interview with NME that the band possibly may debut new material at these shows.

w00t! That's exciting news! Also it's a wise move from the band's part. This way they can see how the fans react to the new music.

This might be a decent alternative if I don't get to go to Reading.

That isn't necessarily true. Don't forget about QWERTY. People loved it, but they didn't include it on M2M and wrote M2M with a completely different style. QWERTY was more of a HT/Meteora style. So I think they don't exactly care to show off new material just to see if people like it, if it doesn't fit with the album's feel (regardless of how much people like it/how good of a song it is) they won't add it or do that style of song on the album.

Man, I wish I lived over there. Oh well, they'll tour the US again soon. :)

But awesome news. I wasn't even thinking about new stuff yet. :D

True. But I think through MTM they've learned that putting out completely new sound isn't always a good idea. So I'm pretty certain that this time around they'll keep in mind what the fans want.

If the songs are as awesome as QWERTY, then I'm all set for some awesomeness.

I wish I lived in England, I would love to see Metallica and LP together on the same bill again. Summer Sanitarium with them was outstanding
