After a long wait, the official video for Linkin Park's brand new track "New Divide" is now available on myspace. The video features a heavy use of special effects, and is one of the most technical and visually dazzling videos the band has done to date. We will let you know if a HD rip becomes available. Click here to see the video! Thanks to JNudda for the info
You were gunning for either "Video Divide" or "New Video", right? I haven't been able to see the video yet, but I'm sure this thread will suffice until I can.
When chester's jumping around..and in the bridge, and at the end. It's randomly mixed in..it didn't play as big of a part as it was supposed to. Also...Chester looks a LOT like 90's Trent Reznor in the second chorus.
I can't wait to see that in HD, it's gonna look mind-blowing. But what happened to the wire-pulled goodness from the Making Of vids? : (
The video felt rushed. Too much of that acid effect made it feel like you didn't know wtf was flying half the damn time. I think a scene or two were looped. I think it's the worst LP video i've seen up to date. Perhaps it's because it's a movie music video and perhaps they got rushed since the movie is gonna come out in 2 weeks.
I didn't like the use of effects the first time around, cause it was really disorienting to see it that way without knowing how the video was supposed to be like. But after you watch it a few times, the video is great. It's a grower,
Weird special effects aplenty. I liked it. Although, I must say that the effect where it tricks you into thinking the video is faulty is mighty annoying and unappealing.
ya i thought like the whole band was suppose to be a part of it and i couldnt make out where it was happening and stuff
That's the only one I didn't like. It looked too much like a youtube graphical glitch than an actual effect.
I'm not sure what to think about this video. The special effects sort of ruined it for me. I only liked the close ups of Chester when he was performing without the special effects added on. Oh and the clips of the movie because Shia LaBeouf is awesome, lol. Other than that, it's not really all that great. I was expecting more when that behind the scenes clip was shown of the band being pulled in all sorts of directions. That went nowhere.
well after a couple of views I like it even tho at times i find the effect very distracting but i like alot of the transition shot of Chester where he is in and out of the effects...i like it i just wanted the rest of the band to be a little more present in the video..other then that no real issue with it
I dont think the poor video quality that myspace spits out does this video justice. It'll look waaay better in HD.
*thumbs up*. Wait for at least a 720p rip of this folks. Oh and btw, the end effect at the very end of the video kicks ass. Zombie chaz ftw.
Chaz? Like Chazzy Chaz is so hot and all that? I thought only zombie fan boys used this term, but that might have been why you tossed that in there. Clever boy, clever boy. This video is terrible times five-hundred thousand. The effects are amazing, though. Almost make up for it, but the band acting so over dramatic and like they're doing Crawling, when they're not, is not good. I miss when Linkin Park had nuts and were being artistic, but oh well, you have to have some nuts to do such a terrible video and show millions without realizing how bad it is and how you've become something you never thought you would have become. Here's to hoping they realize that on the new album. Cheers!
Just got to see it -- and, wow, that was some trippy-ass sh*t right there ... My only complaints are, I don't like the mitosis shots -- and, IMO, there aren't enough shots of Shinoda. @ 0:58 and 2:17 and so on -- who's that on-screen?
If you don't like that effect, don't even think about watching Kanye West's "Welcome to Heartbreak" video. The whole video is like that. I'm not totally sure what to think of this video. Parts of it were pretty awesome but I think they kinda went overboard on the special effects. Just a few more "normal" shots would have been good.
