Quite a passionate guy. Makes a good point. If you vote no, then JUST VOTE NO. Stalling for months on end is pointless waste of money.
To provide context and commentary: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/w...e-up---9-11-responders-bill?xrs=synd_facebook ^Note Dana Perino's complete missing of the point. And apparently when fellow Fox News anchors like Bill O'Reilly lose their shit and start screaming it's totally A-OK. I wish I could comment more but in all honesty, right wing tactics and Fox News' bullshit leave me completely speechless other than what I can only describe as urges to emit guttural screams and profanities. If you pricked my finger as I watch a Fox News video you'd be scalded with a stream of highly pressurized, boiling hot blood.
"They went there to save survivors, not to raise taxes." - Rep. Kevin Brady (R) Texas. o__O Are you fucking kidding me? Of course they went there to save survivors, that's their jobs. Now our government needs to get off their greedy fucking asses, and do whats right here, and get them the medical attention they need as a result of them doing their jobs. I would love to ask the people that were saved by these firefighters and emergency medical responders what they think of this nonsense. I doubt any of them would mind if their taxes were raised a little to help fund the medical care that these heroes need.
As Jon Stewart mocked, "I didn't realize they intended to PAY for the bill". They'll always complain about higher taxes and money coming out of their pockets. "Affordable health care which could ultimately lead to better quality of life for Americans? TAXES? Fuck 'em."
Also this guy is very passionate, which is awesome. I really hate Faux News hypocrisy though. For context. Fox News went to court to sue for the right to lie to their viewers. Just saying.. Oh and I guess the only TV conservative I enjoy listening to is Colbert.
Colbert is satirical. Stephen Colbert in the sense of the "Character" that hosts the show is a conservative parody. It's sort of like going "Here's a show from the left point of view, here's a show from the right point of view. Either way we're making fun of (mostly) the right wing" although they take a fair share of jabs at others as well.
Which is exactly why I like listening to him mate. I only called him conservative for lack of a better word on my part. And it's amazing how he's able to stay in character so easily, I think. Anyway. Back to my existentialist reading.
I can't begin to tell you how many conservatives I've talked to who thought Stephen Colbert was truly a conservative. Apparently none of them listened to his speech at the White House Correspondent's Dinner when Bush was President. I do prefer Jon Stewart though. I think he's a whole lot funnier than Colbert.
I prefer Jon Stewart because you can say a lot more on a subject when you don't have to be tongue-in-cheek and subtle about it. Jon Stewart can really lay into people. Colbert is better for more thought provoking, subtle humor. I think that's why the shows balance each other out so well.
Stewart is more of a Leftist than Colbert. Anthony Weiner is a complete idiot, the man is a total leftist, a big government, Marxist hack. This bill didn't pass because the Democrat Party just couldn't resist the temptation to earmark everything and the kitchen sink along with the bill. If they voted on a clean bill, nothing stapled to it, to provide healthcare for 9/11 first responders, it would FLY through the Senate and the House.
Nope, government-run health care will decrease the quality of health care for every single American that already has care, it will AT MOST insure an extra 12 million or so people who want insurance, it will redistribute wealth (wait, they want that anyway), and it will destroy the greatest system of health care in the world. The best doctors are here for a reason. Government run health care systems tell doctors where they have to open a practice, greatly reduces the number of people who join the medicine field, and end up bringing a shortage of doctors. Why is it that Marxist hacks believe it is somehow justified to steal money from hard working Americans and use it for their social engineering projects? The government can't run a damn thing better than the private sector, and the more the government controls the less liberty the people have. Leftism at it's core is anti-freedom. I hate the Republican Party, almost as much as I hate the Democrat Party, so before you jump all over me keep that in mind. Bush was not a conservative whatsoever, and neither are a lot of these phony Neo-Conservative statist hacks. Bush destroyed the image of Conservatism for this generation. Small government protects freedom, large centralized government takes it away. In the words of the great Ronald Reagan, the last great President this country had, "A government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they know when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion." COME ON people, THIS is what's coming. The New Left seeks solely to destroy your rights and centralize the government, shifting away from a Republic form of government and towards an authoritarian state. I can't see how anyone continues to support these crooks.
I disagree with that guy on a lot of issues, but I absolutely respect him. He is about as honest and clean as they come. One of few in the democrat party I don't loathe. Honestly the Tea Party needs to just run the Bush-era Republican party out of business and reclaim America.
I respect him and I'm not even a demo. Not a repub anymore either. I'm sort of stuck in the middle pointing fingers at both and yelling liar! atm. governments are fun.
