Mark hit the nail on the head with this one, just because they disagree with you, doesn't make them a "fanboy". Why don't you take a long listen to When They Come For Me to see LPs future intentions on ever going back to their old sound.

Might just be me but at 2:50 of Blackout, sounds like they sampled the "car door" soundbite from "Part of Me". If so, good easter egg.

I like all of the songs except for Robot Boy, which just sounds like a dull long interlude. Not feeling Burning the Skies too much either, it has the "New Divide/What I've Done" sound that I'm not fond of. Overall, good effort for Linkin Park charting new-ish territory. I'll never understand the fans that want them to stay the same. Your musical taste and maturity isn't the same as it was 10 years ago (I hope...) and neither are the band members. I started off with nu-metal to metal, rock, hip-hop, pop, 80s, jazz, bossa nova, and most recently funk, all in the span from Hybrid Theory til now. Besides, don't you realize those nu-metal bands that never change all die out?!

LP are about the only band I still buy CDs from, mainly cause they were my starting point in music and I have a soft spot for em. Their nice packaging is also a factor though. CD/DVD pre-ordered, looking forward to seeing the digipak artwork and booklet!

You weren't a fan of LP. You were a fan of the nu metal sound.

That genre much like your comments are obsolete.

No, it's just you can't get over something that is dead, gone, and probably never coming back. Dude, it's been seven years since Meteora. When are you going to give up on the "Linkin Park needs to go back to Hybrid Theory/Meteora" stuff? In 10 years? 15? When Linkin Park members are in their 70's? I miss the nu metal sound too but complaining about it year after year after year isn't going to make it come back. Either you can like this new sound by Linkin Park which I do or go listen to somebody else.

I agree, I also could see Wretches and Kings being a single, maybe even When They Come For Me.

How would you feel if the Deftones started singing songs that sounded like Coldplay? Can you honestly say you wouldn't miss their current sound and call them obsolete?

ohh please not wretches. Least favorite song on the album..well...but in the end, it really doesn't matter(c wut i did ther) I don't really pay attention to what singles are released. I have the album and music videos don't hold much appeal to me. But wretches, meh.

:O That hurt a little but too each their own.

I agree, I just have certain songs I would like to see a music video for. I'd love to see them make a video for W&K, I can picture on in my head and might I say, it's very good! LOL.

1st the Deftones would never go "pop."

2nd if that's your basis for your reply I still don't know what to say to you.

BTW the Deftones current sound is wayyyyy better than their stuff from 1995.

IMO, it will be a softer song next, so who knows.

Figured you'd say that. There's also no way anyone would have predicted LP would sound like this, either. I guess my question still stands to you, then.

Oh definitely, especially since Fall/Winter are usually the time for low-tempo/ballads. However, for spring I'd love W&K or WTCFM.
