If we follow the 5-single patten LP has followed, what would you guys have as the remaining singles? Keep in mind this isn't just your favourite 5 tracks from the CD, as commercial appeal must also be looked at. Here's what I would have: 1. The Catalyst 2. Waiting for the End (I would've chosen this here for sure as well) 3. Burning In The Skies 4. Blackout 5. Iridescent
I think Blackout would totally fail on radio, given how "un-radio" it is. I think they'll only do four this time at the max (maybe only three, who knows) 1. The Catalyst 2. Waiting For The End 3. Iridescent 4. When They Come For Me (5. Wretches And Kings)
The 5 singles from this album should easily be: The Catalyst Waiting For The End Iridescent Burning In The Skies Wretches And Kings Blackout and When They Come For Me are two of the best songs on the album, but they are not radio-friendly at all.
3. Blackout 4. Burning In The Skies 5. Roboy Boy or The Messenger. I think they need to break the mold and release something unconventional. I think either one could actually do really well.
1. The Catalyst 2. Waiting For The End 3. Burning In The Skies 4. When They Come For Me 5. Iridescent But I'd love to see Empty Spaces as a single
Iridescent is already confirmed as the third single in the sticker on the album cover. The other singles should be Burning In The Skies and Wretches & Kings imo.
As much as I like Wretches and Kings, it's too old-LP sounding. I don't want people to label it as old LP because they've become so much more than that, and casual listeners might group it with their older rap-rock. And Blackout I suggested because Given Up got good airplay as a single here.
Why does everyone want Iridescent? Can you all honestly say you can hear it on radio? Especially considering the backlash LOATR got?
Why on earth is BITS on every list? It's the least intense song EVER! There is no thickness in the tone at all, and in places the keyboards drown out the vocals. The guitar at 3:00 saves the song a bit though.....
The Catalyst Waiting for the End Blackout or When They Come For Me Burning in the Skies Iridescent And why on Earth can't everyone just calm down with the "Why on Earth" questions?
