I was 14 going on 15 when this album was released and my life was changed forever (in all the best ways). I can't thank LP enough for releasing this album. Ten years ago, I don't think I ever understood that they would have such an impact on me they way they have. I also realized that Chester was about my age now when the album released...surreal.
Also to what Kathyxx said about the girls and pop music thing, people still tell me that as a 24 year old girl I shouldn't be listening to them, and I hope to be in my fifties + still rocking out to them, even if I look silly doing it :)

Dammit I missed the party! (Curse you jet lag!!!) Anyhow, I was 15 when this album came out and I remember disliking One Step Closer when it was played on KROQ. A buddy of mine had the album when it first came out and let me borrow it, let's just say I'm absolutely glad Papercut is the first track, because that is what sold me. Eventually I learned to appreciate OSC in the context of the rest of the album, but it's still my least favorite track on this album. =P

I was 11 when it came out and I remember hating One Step Closer when the video came out but when In The End came out I got hooked on it immediatly.

    :D W00T!

I was nine when "Hybrid Theory" came out; I started listening to it when I was ten, and basically listened to nothing but that up until "Meteora" came out. :) Good times ...

Cool that the 'first Xero gig poster' floating around is confirmed to be real (if it already was I didn't know.)

    I can't believe it's been 10 years. I was 11. Time flies.

Congratulations LP, it's been hell of a ride :)

Man, time flies. I was 14 when this album came out and almost 15 when I decided to buy it because two friends of mine were gushing about HT. I loved the album from the jump and I can directly attribute HT my love of rock and exploration of other music thereafter to ripping that piece of wrapping and popping that cd into my desktop computer in 2001.

I was 14 when HT came out. It was the first album I bought with my own money and I was hooked from the very beginning. Words cannot explain the experience of hearing HT for the first time. It's been my favorite album of all time for 10 years but now I'm having a hard time deciding whether I like HT or ATS more. Let's call it a tie!
