I figured I would post it here, since it is a tech problem. My PS3 has been stuck on a "Rebuild Database" loading screen for hours on 0%. I read on the Playstation message boards that all of my game saves and DLC will be deleted afterwards. I own a 120 GB slim, and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else on this boards, and what I need to do to fix it, since I don't have the 300-400 dollars to replace the damn thing, if it is needed. UPDATE: Yeah, still fucked. It was at 0 percent overnight for 10 hours now.
Idk about your HD but your downloaded games should be safe once you keep your PSN-ID,about your game data your f&%ked.
Seems like one of those rare issues that you only get with technology. You might be fucked mate sorry.
ok, well I have another update. I had my PS3 unplugged for most of the day, and now it isn't stuck on the loading screen, and is now "rebuilding" just fine. Somehow the HDD was corrupted. It reformatted and now it is fine, for the moment. I'm still going to have the PS3 rest the next few days, as it gets an insane amount of online time by my little brother.
i did rebuild data base as well, but to improve ps3 performance it doesn't delete your files, it just repairs any that are corrupted
