Hi have any of you guys heard Pendulums cover of The Catalyst. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pendulum+the+catalyst&aq=0 What do you guys think of it? Personally I think it is just a bit better than LP's as a single due to the fact that they reduced the amount of techno, but thats just me
This is pretty good but I personally still like Linkin Park's better cause I like the techno in the song better than no techno.
Pendulum is my second favorite artist, but i feel that was a little rushed. Otherwise i love it. However it doesnt compare to LP's version.
It's charming and it rocks. But Pendulum watered down the last part of the song and made it less epic which was a minus. If they hadn't screwed that part up, it would have been a flawless cover.
The "I hate techno" comments would work if the song was actually...you know...techno, which it's not. Just like the original Catalyst was never techno, and half of what people refer to as techno isn't techno. This cover is better than the original instrumentally at parts. Yes its rushed, but Pendulum took chances the band didn't on this track.
As much as I have grown to love Pendulum last year, I really don't like this cover. It is waaaaay too rushed, and really takes away from how the original song was meant to be.
