Today in a surprise exclusive we have obtained the original 1997 Xero Demo Tape in a brand new remastered quality. LPA Forum member "Skittle021" shared the tracks in an updated sound quality, that prove a lot more clear and clean than previous rips. You can check out what the ripper has to say below, and download the tracks for your listening pleasure:

"I would like to share something that I have been working on for the past three years.

Since late 2007, I have been working on remastering the Xero Demo Tape to get it as close to studio quality as possible. Well, I've finally done it.

I wasn't planning on releasing this to the public, but after showing it to a few friends and family members, they suggested that I do just that. So, here you go. Let me know what you think!"

The rips are remastered with updated equipment from previous rips and are a great listen for anyone interested in the grass roots of Linkin Park, if you haven't heard them before or just want a refreshing take on the Xero tape, download them below in MP3 + lossless FLAC format.

    Tracklist

    01: Rhinestone
    02: Reading My Eyes
    03: Fuse
    04: Stick N' Move

Just one thing, it said late 2006 not 7 in the original post.

I don't have to older versions to compare on this computer, but this sounds pretty good. Great job.

Yeah, in the authors notes in the DL he says 2007. As that was 3 years ago from late 2010 - 11, I assumed the 06 was a typo.

I've had a couple people ask me if I will be uploading an FLAC version of the remasters. Sadly, I will most likely not be uploading an FLAC version. Though FLAC's do have a MUCH higher bitrate/quality, in this case, the FLAC's sounded exactly the same as the MP3's when I exported them (this is mostly because of the age of the cassette. Much of the quality has been lost over time due to heat, playback, and other obvious reasons, so FLAC quality audio is virtually impossible now), so, because of the smaller file size, I only kept the MP3's. But I can assure you, the MP3's sounds exactly the same as the FLAC's did.
