Help Kyle Rodas Fulfill His Last Wish

    While this is not necessarily a Linkin Park news story, we are creating this post to bring attention to a 14 year old teen named Kyle Rodas from Artesia, CA who was diagnosed with brain cancer last year and who has completely lost his vision and much of his ability to speak due to the illness.

    Rodas, has made it his dying wish to meet one of his three favorite rock artists (Linkin Park, Green Day or Ozzy Osbourne) and we here at The Linkin Park Association want to send our prayers to Kyle and his family, as well as offer any support we can to his cause and to helping his dream come true. We are posting his story below in the hopes that Linkin Park will see the video, and that somehow (if possible), Kyle's final wishes can be granted.

    Update: After a number of LP & Ozzy fans reached out to management, Kyle's wishes came true over the past couple of days. Ozzy Osbourne placed a phone call to Kyle from Europe in which he promised to meet him as soon as he's back state-side. Linkin Park drummer Rob Bourdon visited Kyle on Tuesday, followed by lead Linkin Park vocalist, Chester Bennington on Wednesday, hours before they flew off on their Europe Summer Tour.

    My best wishes go out to Kyle and his family. It would be awesome if his wish came true whether it was LP, Green Day, or Ozzy Osbourne!

    Ozzy has already called Kyle and let him know that he WILL be visiting him very soon :D. However, I want ALL of his dreams to come true. It must be so tough to have cancer and be so young. He's a strong kid.

    God bless Kyle and the Rodas family. I do hope all of his dreams come true (Ozzy, Rob and Chester are making them come true right now!). Man, Kyle's a very strong kid, even though he's dying. I hope he'll be in a happier and better place, but man, so young and with leukemia...this made me sad. :( Oh, by the way, Rob already visited Kyle and tomorrow, Chester's dropping by to meet him. :)

    "Later in the day, KTLA received word that the drummer from Linkin Park went to visit Kyle, and on Wednesday, the lead singer will visit him."

    I am so heart broken for Kyle. :/ My prayers go to him and his family. I agree, he is a strong kid and god bless him. I am so happy he was able to get his wish! I just heard that too, Rob and Chester will visit him.

    is one of the big reasons why I have so much respect for them
    small things in life which have the choice to do can sometimes mean everything to someone's life
    another eg among the countless to show that despite all the shit, life is beautiful, live and cherish it. Not all are fortunate.

    Its awesome to see how fast Ozzy & LP have reacted to this. Looks like they'll be for filling the poor kids dream :)

    But c'mon Green day, Ozzy & LP have put you to shame!

    I don't like it that people are being too hard on Green Day now. First off, they have their own lives, and even though that's kid's story is really sad they actually might now be able to visit him at the moment.

    And the second thing is, they might have visited him and asked the family not to say they were there, they don't have to prove anything to anyone.

    I think you completely misunderstood my, and other people's posts in here. We're not criticizing Green Day at all or suggesting they're bad people. We never did, and never would. We're more so just hoping something happens cause imagine this kid's surprise if all THREE of his favorite bands were there for him. It may not be possible, but everyone wants to see this kid's last moments on earth be incredible. There's no hate on Green Day in here, and even if they couldn't meet Kyle...Kyle has already had a rock legend call him and one of today's biggest rock bands pay visit to him. I can't imagine how stunned he must feel that everyone is rooting for him.
