The band may sound familiar to you, and that's because they caught Linkin Park's attention earlier in the month. You may remember reading this post on Mike's blog. Their album, Stars is fantastic. I just gave it a listen. You can legally listen and download it here. What do you think?
they never compensated the loss of their original lead singer "eric victorino". as you might know the instrumental fraction of this band used to be called "strata" and with eric as their singer they created the masterpiece "strata presents: the end of the world" (see: http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=259804). after eric left the band for good, they went on hiatus and re-formed under their current name. sadly, everything that made "strata" so interesting and unique in a way got lost and now there is nothing more than shallow and uninspired rock music. i liked a few of their songs (mainly the ones, that were released as a 3 track sampler in advance) but overall i lost all interest in them. back in the strata days they used to create intriguing songs by actual using their instruments (not some electronica equipment...) and had very intelligent lyrics. oh, and i should add, that the new singer sounds a LOT like eric.
I LOVE their music. Stars is a great album, and according to them, they're currently working on a new album. I personally can't wait. I think their instrumentations are simple, yet breathtaking at the same time. Some of the lyrics really got to me. Consider me a fan.
I was at Live 105's BFD show to see LP play, and they succeeded in getting my attention, so mad props for knowing what they're doing. But their sound does not appeal to me at all. They sound just like 10,000 other bands.
