Linkin Park's Performance Of Iridescent at Red Square Now On MTV.com

I don't think liking the chaz-sing+mike-rap style is being stuck in the past, it's like any other taste.

Awesome performance by Linkin Park. Really enjoyed it, but yes boooooo MTV.

 

Or we could, you know, do something completely crazy like let them do what they want to do with their music, seeing as it is their music that they are creating.

 

Several needs:
1. Harmonies!
2. Chester's an amazing singer for his style of singing. Mike pulls off the perishing alt-rock voice a lot better than Chester does.
3. Two awesome voices = twice the awesome.

 

I think Rob should rap and Brad should sing.

 

Ehh. I disagree. While I agree that they harmonize beautifuly, and I love ATS and the new direction they're headed in creatively and am all for change and love and respect Mike's various talents and everything, I just think he's kind of a terrible singer. He's ok for some parts, but to me the second verse of iridescent sounds much better than the first when Chester harmonizes with him. On his own, I think it sounds kind of flat and dull. I don't know, I am all for evolution of style, but in my opinion, Mike doesn't need to take over everything. I want to hear him do what he does well, and I want to hear Chester sing.

Oh, they can do an entire album of Herman's Hermits covers if they want to. But as fans, we're still allowed to criticize/have an opinion when we don't like something.

 

Is it just me or there's pitch correction used in the post-production of this video?

Because recently, they sound perfectly on pitch on every song that's pro-shot. And whenever I listen to a version on the camera, it sounds more off key.

But that's just me. I maybe insane o.o

I don't think he's anywhere near taking over anything. Chester has a lot more range and styles than Mike does, and Mike couldn't make up for the void Chester would leave otherwise. It's just sometimes Mike's voice is the right tool for the job, and I like the end result a whole lot.

 

I came here just to say this. I wouldn't be surprised really. New Divide's performance at TF2 premiere was also "too good for live".
