This performance had absolutely nothing in common with The Messenger. This was way more powerful, darker in ways, and above all way more soulful than anything i've heard before, especially anything i've heard from LP. It's ridiculous to even try to compare Chesters Rolling-in-the-deep-voice with his The-Messenger-voice.

True, the songs have different meaning too. TM is about a father getting ready to let go of his kids as they venture into the world (Chester said he wrote it about his eldest son), while RITD is a song about a heartbroken lover who is determined to have the last laugh, and get their revenge. So the moods are totally different. Good point. Either way, I'd love to hear soul/emotion like this from Chester on Album #5.

Holy crap the soundboard guys actually did their jobs right this time.

Is it just me or did Rob add a little extra to the Catalyst?

    Right at the beginning.

I must say that there were a lot of situations during the concert the band added something or changed melodies slightly up, only a few notes sometimes. I can't point out a specific one right now though, it's just something that I noticed. There also were quite a lot of small moments when they messed up really tiny things, but that wasn't disturbing at all suprisingly but made the concert even more special and.. humanly I guess.

They really should play smaller venues more often.

Been saying this for a while.

Tends to weed out the people who go just because it's a concert.

I heard (and saw) that as him coming in too early with the triggered snare. But he got back on track. He had an extra couple of hits in there but it didn't look like a planned fill. It looked like "oh crap hurry up and get back on beat!"

One thing great about these guys is their professionalism. When they mess up something one way or another they are always able to quickly get back on track. Even when Chester forgets lyrics lol!

I agree! The roundhouse was the perfect size for LP (well, any band really). I went to see Dead By Sunrise @ HMV Forum in London at the beginning of last year and that was a tiny venue. Was probably one of the best live gigs I have been to!

Pretty impressive that the same band can go from an incredibly heavy performance of "No More Sorrow" to something as soulful as "Rolling in the Deep".

The Catalyst's performance here is probably the best live version of the song yet.

On another note, why do I feel like Chester sounds out of tune in BITS chorus? It sounds like he brought down the scale a notch.

That song from last night was one of the stand out ones for me. I thought they performed it brilliantly.

I think the unnecessary censorship was a bit much. Seems like they hit the bleep button everytime they thought they were going to say fuck. Even when they missed it.

^It would be better than Road to Revolution :p

There is only one word to describe their performance at the Itunes Festival-WOW!
They nailed it , keeping the crowd hyped up with songs ranging from Hybrid Theory to A Thousand Suns.
I am so proud to call my self a Linkin Park fan.
