Several weeks ago, a member of the [exodus]Evanescence (otherwise known as the EvBoard) posted his thoughts on where he thought Evanescence would go without Ben Moody, their former guitarist. He stated what he felt would happen to the band in the future, and different things regarding the band (you can read them when you click the link at the end of this post). The board admin, "The Other Ben" (ToB), posted his thoughts on the subject. ToB stated that he felt Evanescence was Ben's one shot at greatness and that he blew his chance at greatness. Also, ToB gave his shot at stating exactly what had happened when Ben left the band, but, according to Ben Moody himself, he was way off. He said that John LeCompt (the guitarist taking Ben's place on tour while Terry Balsamo of Cold fills in for John's parts) had to learn all of Ben's guitar parts the morning of the show just by listening to Fallen and that there was only one guitar part tracked for the entire album. He apparently couldn't have been more wrong. It seems that the album had more than one guitar part tracked (apparent in the instrumental of "Going Under" on the "Going Under" DVD single) and that Ben had been teaching John his guitar parts for weeks, including the guitar solos. Apparently, Ben will carry on and we haven't "heard the last" of him. Currently, Ben is working with Avril Lavigne, and will help track some songs for her next album. There are also rumors that Ben will join Avril's touring band. It is now official: Ben Moody has left Evanescence.
Avril Lavigne? Maybe he thought he could get more success there, she's a guaranteed success for her next album. Anyways, that's really unfortunate for Evanescence....
I wish Evanescence and Ben the best of luck. Evanescence is a great band, and Ben is a great guitar player/ songwriter. So I'm sure both will succeed at what their doing.
so Ben left one of the biggest up and coming groups out there today...to join Avril, who won't be around anytime after 2004. god help him.

Terry Balsamo should entirely replace Ben. His riffs are way cool. Wait- he should quit Cold then! WTH, let them have Wes as a substitute
Wes is only producing a few songs on their next studio album, and he never said anything about laying down some guitar tracks. EDIT: The Evanescence Live@Much also confirmed that Terry is now officially in the band.
whoah... it's official that he left Evanescence... pwhoah... what a shift, from Evanescence to Avril? Is it really wise? But i wish him the best of luck nevertheless.. and Good Luck to Evanescence, they'll still be great without him!
