    I disagree. How is it a good reason to burn down shops and homes? There is no reason to mug people either. These groups of feral youth have no idea what they are supposedly "rioting" about. Their only intention is to steal whatever the fuck they can get their hands on.

    This riot was started through(probably) misinformation thinking that the guy shot was a innocent bystander (but he was a wanted drug dealer, from what i heard), people rioted for a day, then the rest of the days was just people taking advantage of the situation, by looting and stealing. just my two cents really.

    Well, forgive my misinformed ignorant ass. That's just fucked up. They could have done a march. There's other ways to be an activist and get your point across. When people take advantage of a situation, if there was a message behind it, it becomes lost.

    So last night was quiet with no reports, hopefully this means the rioting's over :)

    As for why they happened, I don't think there was any correlation between the original shooting and the riots. It was just complete opportunism. I think that, regardless of age, everyone involved should be punished and the parents of the younger side of the riots (ie. most of the people involved), should face some kind of punishment for being pathetic at parenting. I don't care what people are saying about lack of opportunity for those who have no money and all that shit; it doesn't take money or a "proper education" to know that you shouldn't go around burning the shit out of cars and some buildings and looting local stores that are owned (most likely) by people that some of the rioters know. This was all about Johnny Whoever wanting a new Adidas jacket without having to actually clean himself up, hand out a CV and work for it. What I think is interesting though is that people have said that a large amount of preparation for the riots went through BlackBerry Messaging. If these people are so hard done by and have no money or opportunity, then how the fuck can they afford BlackBerry's?!
