Killswitch Engage have parted ways with lead singer Howard Jones. This taken from their official fb: I'm quite cut up about this. Howard is an amazing vocalist and I'm really upset I never got to see them perform with him live. Perhaps the return of Jesse Leach? Phil Lobonte?
I'm sure if this happened before The Fall of Ideals, Phil Labonte would've had no qualms about disbanding All That Remains to join Killswitch Engage. Since that's not the case, he's not going to disband ATR to join Killswitch. ATR is too huge now for him to do that. I'm cut up, too. I was finally starting to appreciate Howard Jones and now that he's gone, I'm only hoping they bring Jesse Leach back.
Damn, after how awesome As Daylight Dies and The End Of Heartache were with him, it's sad to see him leave. I would love to have them fronted by Phil Labonte, but as Willstar said, All That Remains is too big to just abandon for another band. As far as Jesse Leach goes though, I'm not too big a fan of him, even after Times Of Grace.
In my opinion their best album is Alive or Just Breathing. Howard's versions of those songs couldn't hold a candle to Jesse's versions. I disliked The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies but their second self-titled album was amazing.
Yep. I like most of the music they made with Howard, but Jesse has a sincerity to his vocals that few metal singers have (even when he's singing cheesy lyrics). And welcome back, Will.
I agree a million times over. I do like Howard's vocals but nothing is as good as 'Jesse's KSE'. Times Of Grace was AMAZING and easily one of my top 5 albums of 2011. Would like to see Jesse take the reigns of KSE again but i'm not sure how he'd juggle 3 projects because I want to see more Times Of Grace after he just released the new Empire Shall Fall EP before new KSE. But that's just me being selfish.
It's a shame, and i had a bad feeling this was going to happen since, we haven't heard much news from them. wish the best of luck to howard. and hopefully killswitch has a sweet surprise coming our way really soon.
I was reading about this the other day. Very sad news, but I hope Killswitch Engage can come back more epic then ever!
I'm guessing Howard's going to take the next year off to get healthy and then he'll be back at it. I'm assuming he's going to get Blood Has Been Shed back in the studio and on the road, though it'll be awkward since they might have to find a new drummer. Killswitch's drummer, after all, came over from Blood Has Been Shed with Howard.
Keep in mind that, until Killswitch Engage releases an official announcement, this might only be temporary, though still extremely bad-fucking-ass.
Fuck yeah! I wonder if they'll play any Howard-era songs? It would be interesting and orgasmic to hear Jesse sing songs like End Of Heartache etc.
