Oh you Trollnoda. Well, I have to admit that it's easier to be patient with these little info drops than it was in the pre-ATS era. :p

Eh..."firecracker song-based record." Seems like code for "heavy pop hits." I hope I'm wrong though.

To me, it sounds like this might be similar to m2m. Maybe not the same sound, but more like how it's put together.

He actually meant firecricket, seeing that the cricket played such a crucial role in the last album.

I don't know what to think... still the information can let the imagination only starve.

One thing I never understood is why they presented always the heaviest songs of a new album first. Is like they wanna make the old kind of fans happy with the hype and give the full record address when the album itself gets released. With MTM I remember how they specificly let hear the Given Up bridge and how they showed the live of No More Sorrow. With ATS it was Wretches and Kings, the stem of Rob's very textured drum pattern of The Catalyst, the chorus of Blackout (aside from Waiting for the End, ok).
In The Making of ATS they let hear unreleased and yet unnamed demos in a very upbeat style. And in the end turns out the album sounds totally different from the hype.
I'm not saying I want heavy stuff with this statement, I am asking myself why they don't believe on the "hidden" part of their albums before release. As long as they hype the smallest part of the full 2 year-long work album it means to me they still aren't completely doing what they want and feel trapped in which direction to take.
I might be very wrong but I really always wondered...

With The Catalyst I think it was influenced by both the band and Warner, I doubt they'd use Burning in the Skies or Robot Boy as the first single, but something more upbeat which sonically represented the idea of the album.

I hope by firecracker they mean songs like Across The Line or Wretches & Kings. That'd be fucking great.

Minutes to Midnight is my favorite Linkin Park album so far, so that would be awesome.

The info we've gotten so far makes me think, and hope, that the new album might sound like a mix of M2M and ATS. That would be awesome! :)
